A short about a man named Mr. Melancholy, as he lives in a world that seems to be against him.

This is mainly an introduction to the character of Mr. Melancholy. I plan on making a few more animations about his depressing adventures.

YAY!

Hahaha, that was funny. I sure hope you make more flashes with Mr. Melancholy and his depressing adventures.

I liked the music you chose for this flash. I also liked the little thing you put at the end of the credits. Oh, what the heck, I liked the whole thing.

Awesome

Very good, I loved it! It was great how it was a small file, and loaded quickly, but there wasn't a 'play' button or anything so it started while I was looking for my headphones. Not a huge problem, just a little shocking at first. The voices were clear and blended in with the music well (like, the music wasn't a lot louder than the voice) the background music, like birds chirping, and the old movie reel background stuff gave a nice effect as well. Sound effects like that arn't used much anymore. The animation of Mr. Melancholy was original and not choppy, and the colours wern't all bland or too bright. Lipsyncing was very well done as well.

And I LOVED the line at the end of the credits (please don't say you watched the bloody credits) that's what made it just, just perfect. Yeh I'm a geek and watched all the credits, haha.

RareFactory responds:

A very detailed review...thank you, and I'm very glad you loved it... ;)

Typical but Great

This flash reminds me of the robot in the new Hitcher's Guide to the Galaxy movie. But that had no bearing on how much I liked this flash. It would've been keen to see additional reasons why Mr. Meloncholy thinks the world is against him. Perhaps in future episodes you could do that? I especially liked the line "I'm happy being depressed." It keeps the viewer from feeling too negative and unsympathetic towards the main character (in my opinion). Good job.

RareFactory responds:

Yes, I wanted to give it an interesting ending, and there's no better way to do it than through a very ironic statement...and in relation to what you mentioned I saw that Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie just the other day (after I had made this) and made the exact same connection, which was why, if you watched the credits, I listed the late Douglas Adams (writer of the story) under the Special Thanks, just so I'd acknowledge the similarity and avoid being sued...
