Fuckin' Hell I'm a sucker for that soundtrack. Dunno what it is about it, but it's one of the few good things to come out of that trainwreck known as Naruto. Despite how, well, REALLY cliche the whole premise of this was, it was solid for what it is. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it did brighten my day up a tad watching this. I do think however that the ending part of it detracted from the first half of it.
Something different would've worked better I think. Moving away, illness, freak accident, or just them drifting apart for one reason or another. The anime style fighting against some random mugger feels almost comedic. Something more grounded in realism would make it more relatable. I know this is an Anime themed flash and all that, but still, it'd help with emotional impact if it was something more grounded and relatable. Particularly, them just drifting apart as they got older, no real big fight, no catalyst, they just... fell out of contact.
Regardless, on the very slim chance you read this review (probably won't 'cause this is over 13 years old); I liked it.
