Yeah, i was a little bit off with most facts to get them fit with the jokes..
Mario was actually miyomoto's landlord, the whole legend of raziel part is non-sense and the whole Shenmue saga was build from 14 chapters, not only the first game.. so eh yeah, take everything with a grain of salt and just enjoy the jokes ^^
