I have to admit, this game has definitely aged better than most newgrounds games from this period. The minimalist graphics and strong atmosphere definitely help.
De-Animator is loosely based on "Herbert West: Re-Animator", a series of short stories by H.P. Lovecraft. They are like horror fiction comedies, each story ending with a disturbing punch line. This game is a parody of Lovecraftian horror and a homage to Lovecraftian humour.

Classical challenging zombie game! It gets slightly repetitive, but it’s still great!
5 out of 5 stars.
A pretty good game, but it does get repetitive. Beat the first level, you know what to expect for the rest of the game. Pretty good concept though.
Aight! I've been playing this game for years and I think it's about time that I reviewed it.
It's an overall simple game, but with great atmosphere and silhouettes. I also like how the gameplay is simple, yet intuitive at the same time. In short it's addicting!
Overall good use of your time and inspiration. Especially since people (including myself) are still playing it almost 2 decades later!
I made it to Stage 28 with 517 kills. How have others been doing here?
