Despite it being a breakout clone, which had been a 30 year old game at the point of this release (give or take), this game manages to score some major points in the field of originality. I have played many breakout style games in my time and no matter how much effort is put into making creating stage layouts or powerups, it all ends up just feeling like Breakout. This game doesn't do anything particularly revolutionary in either of those categories, but rather in the physics themselves.
While most breakout games determine bounce direction based on the part of the paddle the ball bounces off of, Breakit 2 determines the bounce direction based on the direction and speed at which you are moving when you hit it.
This incredibly minor change manages to make breakout feel like something new which is a feat worth writing a few paragraphs about. Give this one a play :)
