STBAEES: Pilot Episode

Share Collapse

Author Comments

It's a pilot episode to a series that may very well progress no further than this. It's the animated manifestation of many angsty feelings of rejection left over from highschool days. It's a little incohearant and hard to follow mostly due to the audio distortion. Plot goes as such: alien sleeps through class, teacher gets annoyed/interrupted by snores, teachers requests something be thrown, pencil thrown, pencil devoured in brutal fassion, alien embarassed by its natural instincts, teacher adds salt to wound by taunting.

Cool movie !

I like it :) Hope you make more.

((( COOL ART )))

Well notbad, the artwork was cool, with nice backrounds, it started off abit slow though, and could use more sound/fx, but notbad so far...

~X~

...............

Good graphics every thing else sucked tho jus work on your story

PeppermintRoo responds:

I completely understand where you're coming from. A few of my really good friends told me the same thing long before I submitted the video. I have a rather obscure and bizare sense of humor; I don't expect most people to appreciate it. But it makes me so happy to hear you liked the artwork. It's rather inspiring. This really is an over-generalized response to all the people who provided feedback. I'd reply and thank you each individually if it wouldn't get so blisteringly redundant.

About average

Very....um, weird. But the art was decent, and there was a bit of story there. Just about average.

Pretty good.

I like the way you animated it, but I think you should be more steady with lines when drawing. For example, the pencil looked kind of messed up because it was all crooked lines. And I couldn't understand a lot of what the morphed voice was saying, was I supposed to? Other than that, keep up the good work.

PeppermintRoo responds:

You picked up on something that was very intentional. In other earlier flash videos I've made lines quite steady and mathematicaly proportional to perspective and depth of field. I wanted this one to be completely spontaneously mouse drawn, let the sketchy lines lie where they fall.

And no, you're really not supposed to understand the majority of the morphed voice. The only thing I was hoping people would pick up on was when the teacher says, "Oh, somebody throw something at Chris."

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Means much to me.
