I made this rotating galaxy-type thing as an experiment with actionscript. Obviously looks better with more stars, but it slows down if you have a lot. If you have a SERIOUSLY fast PC, try 500 in the centre and 1000 on the outside. Otherwise, stick to about 750 total. You can put more but it'll be slow and jerky. Type in the values you want and press the white button to start. You have to refresh to do it again.

Added an option for smaller stars. I think they look nicer.

Um ok

that was abit different but cool, maybe a better look to it would be cool it was pretty creative aswell and was kind of fun I thaught.

~X~

Creative...

This game is definitly unique to say the least; But I do like the idea behind this game! Here are a few suggestions and facts I have to make the game more realistic.

1) Not all galaxies are elliptical in shape; some are spiral (in both directions), some are more like a bar, some are like a giant ball and then some galaxies have no real definitive shape, they are just blobs.

2)Maybe you could add in a way to collide to galaxies

3) If you really like this subject, why not show the formation of stars or make a game where you build stars.

4) Finaly; galaxies can have stars of all sizes, not just small or large. I am certain that somewhere online you could find a statistical breakdown of the sizes of stars.

Hope at least some of these ideas were useful and that you make another!

p.s. If you need any help with data or researching galaxies let me know ok?

woah

Dude. This is the type of things people should be creating instead of H-games and bloody crud.
Great thing you have here.

game didnt load

that fuckin sucks

Different

I like the idea you've got here, but you did really risk it being blammed. I'm glad that it wasn't.

I was wondering, though, could you make spiral arms orbiting the centre instead of just an oval? Or would it be a lot more difficult? I was just thinking it would be interesting if you could create a simulacrum of our own galaxy.
