to put many at ease, this is based loosely on the lottery by shirley jackson, which in the story, a superstitious rural town partakes in a "lottery", in which an unfortunate winner(person with the dotted paper) is stoned to death, as sacrifice for good luck with the harvest, in the story bill hutchinson draws the paper,and in a second drawing, an obnoxious wife Tessie Hutchinson ends up being stoned, its a fantastic story if you want to go search for it
i recorded dialogue for this, the postmaster, the towns people, everyone, but i just got kinda tired of doing the whole thing, and ended it like shit, it was one of those quick inspiration things that died down in a few hours, i apologize for not putting shirley jackson in here initially

That was the thing about the ritual, they never did explain what it was about or why it happened. Either way though, it was vaguely interesting to see a recreation of that story, but the animation sucked. That's the only way to put it

It's nice seeing a flash based on a book or short story. I remember hearing about it in school somewhere. I forgot. What was the reason why the townspeople did the lottery for. I mean, what was the purpose of killing that one person? Or was it for pure entertainment? Anyways, this movie was alright, I like the style you had with the children playing at the playgrounds like it's just a nice pleasant day, but then the bell rings and they all have to gather together for the lottery.
glad you asked, they did the lottery as a way to offer a sacrifice to god, in hopes that their sacrifice would bring them good fortune with the harvest, rah, nasty barbarians

good telling of the story but it cud be betta
its a good story and i have read it, but due to the amout of half-wit birdbraind newground audience members, your movie hasnt got the credit it deserves. Next time use some voice actors so even the reatrds will get it. Overall a good dramatic movie.
