Ok guys, this is my first flash ever and I created it as an experiment. PLEASE dont blam it and please leave a review so I can learn from you guys on what I did wrong. This is like 2 hours of work. No biggie, but I want to know what I can add to make it better.

em

maybe this was your first movie u uploaded, but I know how first movies look like. not with a preloader. but if it's true u could become a good animator, and as long as it's relaxing I like it! : D however I don't rate it cause it's a first try. keep it up!

Nice style

too big for what it is, the sound seemed to start late and is a lot longer than what you need....

LinkinPark8904 responds:

yeah...I know...it wouldn't let me compress the sound...but look on the bright side, you have a mp3 to listen to if you minimize the movie!

pretty good but...

really nice graphique, the file size is too big and the animation too short, you need to improve this but now... i feel relax :D

Not Bad... Some Suggestions

Yeah I hope people leave constructive reviews I am sure you can be a good Flash artist given time. This was good for a first. It flowed well and I like the simple "Relaxation" sort of thing going on. You used color mixing to create shading effects and it looked good (i.e. the clam and tress). The animation needs improvement, as do some tech aspects. Here are my suggestions.

1. Minimize file size. Compress audio files and put the preloader in a different chapter in your Flash, because the movie is a white screen until the preloader is done loading.

2. Clean up animation. Use more flowing lines, instead of the paintbrush tool. If you must use the brush, use a smaller tip, the one you used was too large, I believe. Instead of simple dots and specks for detail (in the ocean and trees) see if you can work some more tiny colored lines in there to create an almost shimmering water surface. Similarly, when the tide is washing up on shore, you need to have a frothy front to it. It just looked like a blue BG coming onto a yellow one. Use diff colors of yellow for the sand and, like I said, create a frothy front to the tide (like in the real ocean).

3. Create something with a story line or plot of somekind. Flash like this will not float on NG. Pick your favorite song and do something with it for your next project, I often find working with music you like will help you come up with some good ideas.

4. Keep reading on different animating styles, how to use Flash more effectively, and begin to learn ActionScript.

Good luck. If you need help IM me at JonPulliam.

5/5 To try to keep it alive and because it is your first time.

Thanks for the suggestions, man!

Need hints?

I couldn't tell those were waves, there usually is white at the end of a wave. Ummm, another hint is to make a flash with a plot to it, otherwise people don't know what the hell is going on.

LinkinPark8904 responds:

um...if you coundn't tell they were waves then how do you know they were waves?
