Great Oaks RPG is more of an adventure game than an RPG, with a movement and inventory you direct your character through the levels with the arrow keys and space. This is a demo to see what the public thinks of it before I finish the full version. Please try it out and leave a review. Complete each level and click the "Next Level" button, a temporary option that will be fixed in the full version...
2/25/2004: A few things...
Changed the name to "Great Oaks (Demo)" too many people complained its not an RPG...
Changed alias from MargaritaClock to TheJoseph, so its still me :)
Made progress on the full game, I've decided to make it 15 levels long...
movement
The game looks like it will be a good one when you finish it. The movement is akward though. Maybe if you make the character a little smaller so you don't have to line up exactly with the passages. It's not easy to navigate when you have to keep going back and forth just to squeeze through a tight space. Especially when your drunk.
it looks good but...
when text appears on the screen it doesn't go away! and in the first level there's a path with an arrow, i go there but nothing happens, the guy goes off the screen but the view doesn't change or anything. i don't know if your supposed to be able to, but you can't push the blocks or rocks, making it impossible to do the tasks. but it looks like it will be great when it's done.
