Instead of being a judge, I just reviewed 70 of the songs. You can find my review in most of them a good guide on how to judge if you wish.
I don't appreciate the way you reviewed those 70 songs (mine included). I hope I'm speaking on behalf of the others who you OH SO GRACIOUSLY took the time to review.
Most of the reviews you left mainly pointed out negatives (some of them nonsensical and made up), often about how submissions were either unoriginal or not sad. You also liked to mention how you didn't think certain entries would win.
I'm not saying you should always avoid giving negative comments, but there's a difference between leaving constructive criticism and having a (not so) hidden agenda.
If I were going to be a judge.. I would judge on originallity. Because almost all of these songs are piano songs with violins and drums. Lol It got kind of annoying.
If that's the approach somebody else decided to take, fine. It's not your business to decide how it should be judged accordingly.
If you want to be a judge, forfeit your submissions and do it, but don't "backseat judge" by giving passive aggressive reviews on a majority of the entries while you're still in the competition and hoping to win, just like everybody else.
