So you bumped your dormant thread... Just to make that off-topic comment? Jesus fucking Christ, FatKid, are you mentally retarded or something?
The thread had no posts on 7/29, 7/30, and 7/31. That's not some ancient dormant thread, SoulMaster71. I would have posted in it sooner or later to reply to his reply to me, for one thing (which I just did in the above post).
What? AH CHRIST. >:(
I didnt even realize that this post was almost dead. I wasnt trying to bump it lol.. I hadnt been on NG in a while so I wanted to say I was back on the thread.
It wasn't that bad of a bump. Though SoulMaster is right that it was a bit off-topic. Which isn't the end of the world, normally. But you're the one who said this topic was going to be about NG's addictiveness (i.e. stay on-topic, unlike how your WTF Kitty Krew topic turned into an off-topic spamfest)... so....

Yeah, I have no doubt about that! We will see though. Only an hour or two would be fine with me, but I would hate to stop coming here.
5 minutes is enough to deposit exp on multiple accounts, and that's the core NG experience for me over the past decade.
Ha, I didn't mean that at all, but you do have to admit that some statwhores don't have much of a normal life.
Operative word: some.
Never. I love this website and I really don't care what other people think about it.
Then you're fine, so why worry?
I hope my son. (I hope I have a son anyway) thinks the same thing and doesn't think his father is a loser for being on a site like this.
LOL! Depends on what kind of son you have.
Which will depend on his genes from you and the mother... and how he is raised. GOOD LUCK. </childfree>
Yeah, well sometimes she get's on herself and plays games and what not, but she just doesn't see what I get out of the other aspects of the website like posting. She always says she finds things interesting to read now and then, but wouldn't want to post anything. She thinks reviewing is too much work too.
LOL! She plays flash games and watches flash movies on NG but has a problem with you posting? :::rolling eyes::: Then if she ever sees you on NG and goes "OMG, ARE YOU POSTING," make sure to switch to the tab with the flash portal in it and say "nope, just voting on some cool new flash games! HEY, WANNA PLAY SOME HEDGEHOG LAUNCH!?"

See I believe that the addiction to Newgrounds is completely based on your maturity level between reality and the cyber universe. I have found my self lost in the oblivion we call Newgrounds for months. Sitting at my computer playing games, making music, going to NEWGROUNDS and fighting with the forum threads in debates and such.
Riiiiight.
What I don't understand is WHY. WHY can't I stop? It won't do me any good in my future life... or job for that matter. Sure I can type at like 500 miles an hour but so freaking what? I will need to master in computer sciences or something if I am going to get anywhere in life.
Most hobbies (note: I said most, not all) won't help you with your career path/"future life."
Hobbies are for fun, relaxation, staying sane, and killing time (and sometimes money).
NG is a free (money) hobby that only takes as much time as you LET IT TAKE. It's harmless compared to many other hobbies (such as drugs, for instance... or motorcycle racing... or taxidermy!) that have far greater and wide-ranging costs... and risks attached.
I THINK i do it because i am talking with other nerds who have close to the same problem I have.. they just don't realize it yet. I mean... who else is going to care about some post on some stupid forum on a website called Newgrounds.com than some kid who is about to quote this to continue this thread. Only like 5 people will even see this post.
Ehh whatever. BYE.
Passive-aggressive schizo much?
(you two weeks ago) "OMG, I LOVE NG, IT'S SO ADDICTIVE."
(you last week) "OMG, WHY AM I POSTING SOME POST THAT ONLY LIKE 5 PEOPLE WILL EVER EVEN *READ* ON THIS STUPID FORUM ON A WEBSITE CALLED NEW-FUCKING-GROUNDS... WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WEBSITE. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ANYONE ELSE ON THIS WEBSITE!??!?!"
Nothing's wrong with us or the site, dude. You might want to look in the mirror to find the source of your problems.

Yeah I know what you mean. Usually when someone becomes addicted to the internet, he becomes addicted to the first big internet website he has been to. In the youtubers case, Youtube.com. I joined Youtube and tried making some movies... but it just didnt seem like Newgrounds to me.
I've been on the internet since 1994. I've been "addicted" to maaaaaany different websites (and usenet newgroups, and IRC channels, and... etc. etc... lots of pre-web stuff). Your whole "usually... it's the first "big internet website" you go to that catches you and makes you addicted!" theory is flawed as hell.
"OMG, YOUTUBE DOESN'T SEEM LIKE NEWGROUNDS. (whine)"
Yeah, it's Youtube. Not Newgrounds. Go figure.
Because Youtube has way less arguing and "go suck my f'n cock", the youtuber couldnt handle Newgrounds.
ROTFL. Which Youtube movies have you been reading the comments from? 12 year old girls' My Little Pony music videos with moderated comments or something?
I think whatever site you become addicted to first, its the site you stay on because of its own specific enviroment. (Unless it is some small group clan cause everyone knows they dont last long at all.. Except for those damn myspacers *shiver*)
There's nothing wrong with being on 10 sites at once and spending only a little bit of time at each. You sure have some rigid and weird definitions of what it is to be an Internet User, dude.

Not exactly. I came to the Internet at the start of September 2007, and immediately went to the one place that I actually knew where it was...
I realise that it's FKwaJP who's talking like he's the expert on net addiction, not you, and that you went on to explain how even though you started on Youtube but that doesn't mean you're addicted to it today... but... quick question: if you've only been on the internet for 11 months... how is that good evidence to support either FKwaJP's viewpoint or the opposing viewpoint? It's too short a sample size to draw any real conclusions from.
Wait 5 years, look back, and then you'll have a more full understanding of your own net experience. The same is true for just about anything long term. You can't (usually) judge it after 11 months.
"OMG, THIS BABY IS DRIVING ME CRAZY."
Voice of Reason: "How old is he?"
"HE'S 11 MONTHS OLD. THIS IS INSANE. I CAN'T DO THIS FOR 17 MORE YEARS."
Voice of Reason: "Well, you know... it isn't going to be the exact same thing as the past 11 months repeated over and over again from here on out... the experience will change. It might get better in some ways, worse in others... it might be apples and oranges... but it will change."
"OH REALLY? WOW."

Well yeah... I mean the first website you get ADDICTED TO. If you switch to another site, you arent addicted to the other website. It just never works that way... for me anyway. Addiction means you are on there a lot every day for 5 months straight. I remember the good old days when I was on youtube watching stuff like THIS.
"You can't be addicted to more than one site at a time! It just doesn't work that way."
... What?
