Without me even making a post telling people to vote, Alien Hominid HD managed to win XBLA Game of the Year in Kotaku's Reader's Choice Awards!

Just like this time last year, I'm in a deep Castle Crashers trance, working all hours to get the game to Alpha. It's been a long time coming and there's still plenty of road ahead, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I just have to make it before I burn out for good. Just like everything else, the game has turned out to be way more ambitious than we ever intended, and I'm hoping everyone enjoys the hell out of it when it's done. :)

That isn't to say there isn't plenty of stuff in the works for NG! Ross just released an overhaul of the review system, which brings more attention to the reviewers (check out those user pages!) and makes the reviews look prettier in general. Abner, of Shotgun Man fame, is putting the finishing touches on the new NG store, which we hope to launch by the end of the month - keep those fingers crossed!

There are other projects in the works that we'll surprise everyone with later, and PsychoGoldfish is working towards getting that new chat system launched... eventually!

I was planning to post a big STATE OF THE UNION for the coming year, but right now I'm too absorbed in work to write an epic post... I'm thinking once we wrap up some of these immediate projects, I'll try to present the scope for just what we hope to accomplish this year! It's a big scope and people might die.

Damn. I was gonna suggest here since I noticed the other day the old Wi/Ht? Ideas for NG's Evolution thread was locked that you guys ought to add picture upload features for users commenting on their own blog posts. That way I could post a bunch of photos within the context of a single userpage update instead of linking somewhere else.

Anyway, good luck with all that videogame making. Looking forward to the game's release.

Cool about the award and hope to see castle crashers asap, sounds like something worth the waiting.

I'm still getting used to the new look of reviews, but it's a nice change. I especially like the fact that you've done away with the '0/10 people found this review helpful' bit, as it tended to attract flag-happy users into flagging incorrectly.

But enough about us... What are YOUR goals for 2008?

Raise enough money to go travelling this year, USA, Brazil, Venezuela (possibly), New Zealand, and possibly Australia. I need a LOT of money.

My goal is to get into a good college and get front page for once.

I received my Professional Ski Instructors of America Level 1 certification this past weekend. it was cake.

I am also taking my American Association of Snowboard Instructors Level 1 certification in late February

Ah, that's still in the works? It's been a while since I heard about Castle Crashers, but I still look forward to it.

I hope to have submitted my 100th flash this year. I'm pretty sure I'll get this sometime in late Spring/early Summer. Reaching that goal at around the time I turn 18 would be nice. :)

Since I've been having great B/P success recently, I hope to see Police Lieutenant by the end of 08, as well as Level 20. Oh, and 1000 posts on the BBS, and Deity whistle.
