That's left me worried. It seems that the Pokemon don't change colours, so if you have four people playing as Pokemon Trainer then it would be pretty hard to tell who's controlling that Charizard on a small stage.

The Ivysaur in todays update looks a bit darker to me.

This time, Event matches can be played in two-player mode! Wow. This is a great game for couples.

The two-player Events begin!

These are not battles-they're cooperative play. So, you tackle the challenge of each Event together.

There are fewer two-player Events than single-player ones, but they each have different settings than the single-player matches.

Battle together against Bowser and King Dedede!
This is a proper 2-on-2 match.

<Master the Pokémon Tag Battle>

Characters: Pokémon Trainer, Pikachu

This features Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, and Pikachu.
It's a tag battle with pretty much equal teams!

<Fastest, Shortest, Sudden Death>

Characters: Yoshi, King Dedede

Defeat the most enemies in just 10 seconds!!

Characters: Wario, Bowser

C-could this be a Coin battle?! With lots of bills...

That reminds me, there are Coin battles this time around, too. When you launch an opponent, you collect their money. The player with the most money at the end wins.

The fact that it isn't bloodthirsty is nice.

Oh, and I forgot to mention earlier that you can play Target Smash!! with two players simultaneously as well!

Todays update is pretty cool, some new gameplay modes... i guess they have ran out of boring menus to show us? ;P Hopefully there is some sort of reward from completing these co-op games to boost the motivation to go through and beat all these :)

Yeah what he said. The next January edition is supposed to reveal a few things, but thats about 10 days before the actual release of the game in Japan.... We'll probably know by then.

Cool update today though, Co-Op in general goes great with any game.

The prayers of people wanting a different stage to represent Metroid, than a rising lava one have been answered.

Also, the "Porky's Theme" reminded me a lot of Animal Farm for whatever reason.

Most likely (and hopefully) just as a assist trophy, as I think he'd be a bit random to put in this game.
But then again, the game itself is random.

Psh, you guys (guy ;P) act like a "double update" is out of the blue. They usually just toss a song up and call it a second update, kinda some nice music to listen to while you look at what they have for you for the day :D Stage doesn't look chalk full of lava... so that's always good. itty platforms though. I suppose with the stage and the nice Mother song, it was a pretty decent update. Nice job d00dz over at smashbros.com, finally pumping out some nice updates again ^_^

That's true, ah well. The more, the merrier.

Todays update is on healing others in team battles; hopefully a second update on a trophy, music or another item will come today; if not, that it's a mediocre update. Why didn't they save the music for today to go along with this update?

All updates come at once, we will not see another update today.

Personally, I like the item, but it could work a little better. Like picking it up heals you, and all teammates within a certain radius. I just don't see a situation where I would bother going out of my way to heal a teammate. Even on team games I still play very independently and not pay much attention to my others teammates.

This item has absolutely no relevance for those who normally just play free-for-all brawls. But not knowing how to use the item would be problematic, so I'll just explain it.

You might be able to imagine what it is from its name...

Before I get ahead of myself, I must explain that this game features a Team Battle mode.

For example, this function allows people to break into teams of two and do battle when four people are playing.

There are three team colors: red, green and blue.

And the Team Healer has absolutely no function if you're on your own.

If you pick it up, you just hold it. It doesn't do anything.

But, if you throw it at your ally...

Your ally's damage meter gets replenished!

The higher your damage meter, the more you recover.

But, if you don't alert each other, you may not hit your teammate.

And occasionally,
it may cause an opponent to recover damage instead

Interesting feature, I guess in team battles its helpful.

Kirby: Special Moves

He's able to copy an enemy's ability (by which I mean, their standard special move) and use it as his own.

When he inhales a foe and swallows...

He copies his opponent's ability!
