Personally, i would prefer it in this forum. However, because there are more people in the 'General' forum, more people would actually see it.

Well, Bob 'imself always had it on General, I suppose. Personally, I think you should post it here, and just post a link to it from general or something, but whatevah.

Top posters being on general makes perfect sense, BTW, since general has the most posts of any of the boards. But since topics like Ramagi's blam/save rank lists, my top 50 protectors list, the level up thread, etc. etc. (all to do with blams, saves, or exp) are here, voting power (which clearly has to do with those three things directly) belongs with those threads.

But it's your call.

Theare are a few that are not depositing at all I passed some of them, there are afew more to catch, but it going to take me a while as far as Exp goes. I shooting for 10k of exp so I may make the top 50 by then.

Voting power I'm number 3. Once I get that last rank I'll get number 2 for a while. Since that stats not listed it doesn't matter as much.

1500? No, more like 1000. The link you gave me said #50 had around 2950 posts. I've got 1927 posts.

I doubt it (AFAIR, the first 85 people or so on the list back in March were above 7.5, so it's gotta be higher by now). But you've got a better chance than I do at 7.53.

a 7.88 is definitely up there, and it might make top 100, if not, it'll be close.

I'll bet I'm around #125 with 7.53

Incidentally, I was tinkering with the formula Ramagi put forth, and I made a method of calculating your change in experience points per day. That, and other information, will be explained with the thread.

Cool. Sounds like it'll be a really useful thread. How often will you update it once you've made it, around once a week?

No kidding. It's hard enough updating 50 people on my list. Of course, NGling's just keeping track of voting power, though.

When I update my top 50 list (on my comp, not the version I post here), I plug in the blam number, save number (total number is calculated automatically), plug in the overall rank on the list, their b&p rank #/rank name, and then finally order them and slap on the protect rank.

whew.

Cool beans.

Okay, I think I'll have to leave out profile links in the list because of the 6500 character post maximum, so I'll deal with that later, but here's the prototype explanation on calculating total voting power and daily change (feedback is welcome and encouraged):

Only 1 prob I could find with it.

BVPpD = Base Voting Power per Day

you defined BVPpD right there, but...

BCPpD = 5[Ye*Yd*(Le-400)/Yc-Le*Ld*(Ye-400)/Lc]/(Le-400)^2
BCPpD = 50(Le-Ye)/(Le-400)^2
TVPpD = BCPpD * ( 1 + BPM )

then every equation had "BCPpD" in it instead of BVPpD.

So, either you changed your acronym without telling us in the definitions list, or... you hit C by accident a few times instead of V.

Otherwise, looks like a good explanation of everything. I'm more interested in the voting power list itself, of course. Can't wait! #;-}>

The column after that is the URL to their profile, and I will hide this when copy-pasting the list. The column after that is their Voting Power. All I do is click their profile link, get the VP, plug it in, and repeat some 150 times. After that, I highlight rows 2-4 and sort by the VP, and excel changes the rest. The ranks, of course, did not move, so I just hide row 3 and I'm good to copy-paste it.

Hm. My excel spreadsheet for the top 50 protectors is a bit more complicated, but the thing is, I manually reorder the list when people pass each other in protects. Which certainly isn't such a big deal with only 50 people on my list vs. 150 or so on yours, but I'd love to automate it. I don't think I can like you do, though, because I don't just overwrite the old one, I copy and paste the cells below each update, leading to a really long spreadsheet (I like being able to refer back to how it looked weeks and months ago). Can you order only a certain number of rows of several columns without screwing up the rest of the spreadsheet?

Yeah, I accidentally typed it with a "C" the first time on accident, copied that down, then saw it @ the top and fixed it, but not the rest. Thanks for catching that.

Sure thing. I figured that was the reason, since I couldn't think of what CP could mean that resembled Voting Power. #;-}>

BVP = Base Voting Power
TVP = Total Voting Power
BPM = Blam/Protection Point Markup

One thing, maybe you should make that BPP for Blam/Protect Percentage? Just so it's clear that the amount is a percentage increase in voting power, and not a flat increase (since all your examples don't make it clear we're talking %ages here).

When I copy and paste my data from excel, I switch the columns around so that the name is on the far right. If you don't, then gfoxcook's data is gonna be far to the left of the_phantom_spancker's due to the difference in name length.

Of course, the more data you want to put in the list, the more disorienting it's going to be to have the name way over on the right side. That's why I just post rank (from 01 to 50 so they'll line up), protects, and name, and not all the other data I keep track of.

Ramagi having over 10,000 protects has slightly pushed the name column off, but it's just on the top entry, so I don't mind so much about that.

There's a way of earning more exp.points in a small amount, but surely I think it works.
