Really? Hmmm. Sometimes I think it's more like 4/5 of the stuff. #;-}> But yeah, I guess the old portal flash said around 26,000 or 27,000 back when there was just over 100,000 entries. How do you find out how many flashes are actually protected now, BTW? Is it on the stat page or the search page or something? That old sign was useful, goddamnit. There should be a tiny number counter in the lower right corner of the new flash.

I got 800 of my blams the old "last vote = blam" way

jesus, that's a lot of last vote blams. I only have about 120 savior or blammer pages myself (I save screenshots of them, so that's how I know), but then again, I never actively try to ALMOST miss out on a blam or a save. #;-}>

How long, in total, was the period where that was the way to get blams (and protects didn't exist, right?)? I only voted for experience and just to play games and watch movies back then, and I didn't visit the site often, so I had no idea about blamming. Was it like a year?

Yeah. Well, I was at 50:50 back when I had 200 and 200. And I recently had 50:50 again, but just for one or two minutes. #;-}> See the below. That's unedited, BTW, I actually managed to hit an even '000 with both saves and blams, without much effort (they were heading towards each other within +/- 10 of that, and I just made sure to hold off on saves or blams, whichever it was):

I actually went to the top 50, view all and went to the last page. There are about 29,000 there, and about 250 in the most recent and the latest movie is about 113,500. So 29,250 is closer to 3/4 of 113,500 (I think its like 3,000-4,000 off, but its close.)

Yeah... when the new system of blam "points" and protection "points" came out... sizzler and ramagi both had 1337 blams, Junon had about 870-890 (can't remember exactly) And I just got to 800.

How long, in total, was the period where that was the way to get blams (and protects didn't exist, right?)?

I'm not really sure, I only started getting really involved in the site in March 2002, so I'm not sure how long it was around.

Ahhhh, that would have been my guess after the statistics page. Like I said, though, 'twould be nice to have direct access to the number, like the old sign provided.

What on earth happened to sizzler and Junon? I mean, I know Junon's on the top 50 for exp, but why'd they stop blamming and saving? Is sizzler still sizzler, or some other name now? Never heard of that user.

How long, in total, was the period where that was the way to get blams (and protects didn't exist, right?)?

Okay, and the new system went into effect in November or something, right? So you got 800 in 6 months. Seems like a lot. Not anymore, of course, but with that system... dayum.

sizzler used to be very active, and was the first to 1000 and then 1337 blams (when he stopped looking to be the last vote and just voted normally, because he wanted to stay with 1337.) he was the only one with 1337 blams until ramagi also reached it. If the system didn't change, I probably would have passed Junon soon after that and I most likely would have stopped at 1337 too. (Looked pretty cool to say "1337 Blams" in your profile, especially since it was hard to get them back then.

Yeah, some days I couldn't get any, but then there were days where I could get 30 or so. It was a lot easier when ramagi and sizzler were both at 1337, since they weren't going for the last vote anymore.

I know, I know. I saw a post of format's the other day where he was commenting on his use of ellipses and tried to use that to string the pun together. I wasn't sure if he would get it, so I separated the infinitive to leave Pirate all by itself for emphasis.

Myst, I'm sorry to hear you're Quebecois. I forgive you =P

The "Modern Major General" of the song is a supporting character in the cast. He is a stuffy old "English Empire" type who tends to wander around his manor in full dress uniform (gleaming white helmet and all). Throughout the show, he is comes off as a well-meaning, but generally clueless, old codger, and the song about everything he knows is intended to stress the disparity between his and the audience's opinions of him, which heightens the comedy.
