Last year I played a gig at my friend's house with me on the guitar and my brother on the drums and basically it sucked. I sung horribly and nobody wanted to hear it. I didn't want to play Green Day because it was too simple but I did what the crowd wanted me to. Basically it was a horrible first gig.
This year we finally have a bassist, and my friend has asked that we play there again because he said he enjoyed the performance (he's way too nice). The problem is, I don't know what songs to play. The bassist knows some stuff but I have to write out sheet music by hand so he can learn the song. Basically, we might play
Seasons in The Abyss - Slayer
Angel of Death - Slayer
Cowboys From Hell - Pantera
Run to The Hills - Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Ironman - Black Sabbath
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
War Pigs - Black Sabbath
Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth
Man in The Box - Alice in Chains
Paradise City - Guns N' Roses
Sweet Child 'O Mine - Guns N' Roses
Strutter - KISS
Dr. Love - KISS
Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin
Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Seek & Destroy - Metallica
For Whom The Bell Tolls - Metallica
Spirit of The Radio - Rush
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Working Man - Rush
Madhouse - Anthrax
Caught in A Mosh - Anthrax
Wonderboy - Tenacious D
Tribute - Tenacious D
Kielbasa - Tenacious D
Friendship - Tenacious D
Fuck Her Gently - Tenacious D
Basically, I suck at singing and over half of these songs will have to be handwritten by me and taught to the bassist. Is this a good list? We will of course have to narrow it down, as the party be around three hours. I know the list is all metal, but that's what we're doing. Feel free to suggest other songs as well, but note that I can't do a death metal grunt so we aren't doing death metal.
