When I was setting up my new PC I wanted to run something with this aesthetic. I don't know if I could handle using it all the time, but it seems pretty damn cool.

just got my new laptop
this is the desktop of all time
i still need to set up & reorganize stuff so it's empty for now
Thought I ought to jump back in after a few years away. Changed my old username to the one I actually use today, updated some other junk, but my desktop is probably more boring than it's ever been -- since I'm running Linux and using i3wm again, I don't really have a "desktop" per se but I can set a background image if I want with hsetroot or similar. However, I don't have compositing enabled, and xrandr is a little obtuse sometimes, so while my monitors are configured properly I can't seem to properly set the wallpaper by output -- since it's something I don't care much about, I just elected to leave it with no wallpaper.
I guess to show how my machine is configured, I'm using rxvt-unicode and my console and window manager font is JetBrains Mono. My UI font is -- I think -- Noto Sans? I just went with something clear and easily readable. As you can see by the bar at the bottom beyond colorizing the various system monitors I didn't take much care as to alignment or making things pretty, indeed the colorization is just so I can tell what's what at a glance without having to read it and interpret it to find out.

I guess if you don't care about a background image, you don't really need one. But nitrogen is pretty lightweight and will allow you to set different wallpapers by desktop.

Thanks for the tip!

I believe WindowMaker2 is still in most distros' repos. It's not my bag, but I'm glad it's still around for the people who love it.

TFW you forget iTunes MiniPlayer exists
After around a year of switching DEs and Distros, I've finally decided to make the switch to the new Linux Mint Manjaro Edition.
Except LMME doesn't exist, and I just downloaded Cinnamon Desktop Environment plus the default Linux Mint themes (which have been handily uploaded to the AUR for my convenience.)
I first tried making the desktop look like a combo between Linux Mint Cinnamon and Linux Mint Plasma (RIP in peace,) but the default Adwaita theme absolutely hated existing alongside with QT apps, as well as existing in general. So, I went to look for the themes that come with Linux Mint, and saw they were handily on the AUR (wallpapers, themes and icons, login chime, the whole shebang.) After 40 whole minutes, I started toying to my heart's content, and got it to how I perfectly want it, as seen in the Neofetch.
How do I like it? Well, it's perfect for my use case. It's customizable without being a distraction to one's workflow, which is exactly how I want my DE to be. 9.5/10.
