We have another new feature for Flash authors. You can now manually remove your submissions if they meet the following criteria:
1) They have less than 400 votes.
2) They haven't won any awards.
3) They haven't been featured in any collections or the front page.
If you want to remove a submission that does not meet this criteria, you will still need to contact us (for the moment). We may be adjusting the criteria for votes, to allow more authors to manually remove their submissions.
Our next step will be to include the delete feature for all submissions. If your submission does not meet the above criteria, it will be added to a list for an admin to remove, rather than being deleted instantly. We do this for two reasons:
1) To prevent account hijackers from deleting submissions by a popular artist.
2) We like to be aware when someone is removing a popular submission, for the sake of being in the loop.
I don't like to encourage removing old submissions, because it's fun to have an archive of an artist's prior work, even if it's crappy. It shows the progression of talent and helps people see that not everyone comes out the gate with amazing skills.
We're hoping this feature will facilitate a majority of the deletion requests and avoid any major problems with wrongful deletions. To use this feature, log in and access your account options. Click the link for "Portal Submissions", under your Flash Portal options. Next to the "Edit" button for each submission, a "Delete" button will be available if your submission meets the above criteria.
