Well, finally back in the US from my whirlwind tour of Europe. Much thanks to everyone for keeping this thread going in my absence; my internet connection was "spotty," at best, and even when it was working, I rarely had the time to do anything with it.
If you haven't been keeping tabs on the trip from my site, the quick highlights for the Cup segment are as follows:
11 June drove back to Leipzig from Berlin and returned to the hotel at 14.10. Convincing the desk clerk to allow me to use their internet while John stowed his bags, discovered that we had tickets to the Holland-Serbia match that started at 15.00. Raced downtown and took ~1.100 pictures at the match from row 19, on the left 18-yard box. Fried at the match and partied with the Dutch all night in Leipzig.
12 June drove to Gelsenkirchen and got to the US-Czech match AT kickoff. Took ~1200 pictures from row 37, 10 yards towards the half from the left 18-yard box on the opposite side of the field. Baked at the match and partied with Americans in Gelsenkirchen.
14 June drove to Berlin to drop John off, then raced back to Leipzig for the Spain-Ukraine match. Took ~1400 pictures from row 22 , 10 yards towards the half from the left 18-yard box. Roasted at the match and partied with the Spaniards until 9, then with the Germans the rest of the night.
16 June walked down O'Connell Street in Dublin wearing all orange on my way to a pub to watch the Holland match.
17 June called a friend and told them about the previous evening's excursion. "So, you're calling me from the hospital, right?"
It'll be some time (read months) until I can go through and process all 11.000 images from my trip, but here's a few to keep you folks happy. Transparent watermarks are on my laptop "somewhere" but can't find them so this will have to do for now. Dropping them under 50k for posting pixelates to hell the four I had made to spam post, so 100k+ shots are here. Cheers!!
