EXP update #65 is now available!

Hello all and welcome to the 65th EXP update. Things are winding down now that the 5th year special update is over and done with and the six-week periods for this and the following updates are a nice breather for my Sundays so I much appreciate doing that to myself.

I've climbed 16 ranks and now sit firmly in the top 70. The worst thing is that from looking at the stats of those ahead of me, the optimistic view is to gain 3 ranks in the next calendar year. Yes, I'm gunning for the top 75!

I figured you wouldn't want to take on a third update. Look how it burned me out after doing three lists on the run for a few years. If anyone IS interested in taking over the EXP updates at any point, I would like them to drop me a PM and we shall make negotiations. This is my last list standing and I still want to take care of it, although on the other hand it would be pretty cool to retire on the very update that shows my entry into the top 100.

Congrats on updating a list for 5 fucking years, man! And thanks for the update.

You know, I think my EXP updates is the second longest running update helder out of everything. The first is Wylo with his VP updates, even though those seem to happen only twice a year now.

EXP update #66 is now available!

Hello all and welcome to the 66th EXP update and hopefully after this update we'll be back to normal with the 4-weekly updates as opposed to my alternative schedules with the 6 week periods. To be honest, I was starting to like this longer period of time for EXP updates but I still believe the 4-week schedule cannot be beaten. A few things to note here:

1. This update makes the number of days since the launch of the Grounds Gold account system a few days short of being 5,000 days old. It's crazy to think how long it's lived and we only wonder how long it will truly last. Half of 10,000 days is no small feat at all!

2. Unfortunately, due to not renewing my web server's premium access, I've lost a dramatic amount of hard drive space so although I've kept it going for another month to buy some time, for now I've had to purge all the 2x10k updates as well as all EXP updates from 2010 and before. I much prefer to have an archive of updates but I shouldn't have to spend money on this stuff to maintain them, even though a free account limits me to only 40MB. I don't know how many people actually wanted to look back at updates that are a few years old but if anyone out there requests to see them somewhere on the internet, I'll look into storing them elsewhere or maybe I'll just do that myself anyway.

3. On a more personal note, I finally find myself in the top 100 for EXP. A long awaited goal of mine and now it's finally come to fruition. I wish I could have retired my updates here on a great note but maybe I'll make 66 my lucky number or something. :P

NEXT UPDATE: 15th September 2013 (that's just before my holiday so if I fail then, make it the 29th)

The best option in my opinion would be to remove all the updates, except for one or maybe two updates each year, for example each year's special update and then the update 6 months later. That way you won't miss out on too much, as the largest gap will be 6 months. I'd rather have two updates from each year than twelve from two years ago.

Oh, and out of curiosity, why don't you remove those accounts that don't hold ranks (the ones crossed out in red) from the exp. list? Or keep them, but don't give them a ranking on the list. It makes the ranks below those accounts inaccurate compared to the official NG rankings.

Hello all and welcome to the 67th EXP update. We wind down to a quieter update after last time. The Grounds Gold System has finally passed 5,000 days! That's all the news for this update.

I was tempted to do something along the lines of that but I'd rather just restrict it to the last two years or something. Considering my plans over the next few months, I'm not sure if it's really worth moving stuff around.

My problem with removing #0 rank accounts is how any of them can possibly return at any point. I will only remove accounts from the list if they have either had their EXP wiped out (this hasn't happened on many occasions and even then they weren't highly ranked users) or their accounts have been deleted. While those deactivated accounts don't add up to the official stat rankings, I like to show all the users with a high amount of points no matter what.

I never really thought of it that way but now that I look at them closer, a fair amount of them have been slipping up. I won't say some of them will soon hang it up but different users eventually stop. It may be hard to think of it now but at some point I'll most likely stop and be like all those other dead accounts. I'm certainly not going to do this for the rest of my life but then again, I have my doubts on how long this site will be around for...

I like it when I'm at the top of the levels that I'm on. However, most of the time that means my updates were a few days off from when I level up.

I understand the inconsistency with the NG ranks and the EXP update ranks can be frustrating to some but I've got my own policies. If someone else were to do this list and had the deactivated accounts removed I'd be fine with that. It wouldn't be too difficult to do that whilst keeping them on the spreadsheet incase they ever returned. The simple formula to do that would be to check if each user has the 0 rank and if they are their EXP will be shown as 0 on the spreadsheet.

I believe it was something like only 7 EXP a day you could earn from those times but if that was the case Pimp should have been at least somewhere high after a hundred days or so. I think later on you were able to get 11 EXP a day but after a while it came to just getting 10 a day from the system we've all been adapting to now. I can't be sure when exactly the last change happened but I'm sure it happened sometime in 2002.

No... You're already on the list. The thread title is a deceiving one since originally the EXP list was limited to the top 2,000 by a different owner. However, my lists count anyone from 8,000 EXP and above.

Slowly closing in on where I want to be - another rank or two could be available to me inside the month, as I close in on a malfunctioning machine (gfoxclock) and slowly chip away at the slender lead that Biofreak42069 has over me.

Looking further up the road, southy and Dekathos both seem to have stopped at around 800 points clear of me, so a few months of constant depositing will get me there.

Soon, the Exp updates will be more numerous than the people in front of me (86)

Hmm, guess my math is off. Either way I'm still pretty slack. Newgrounds is just a random boredom relief. Oh well, a few days I'll have top 2k. So many have completely stopped.

EXP update #68 is now available!

Hello all and welcome to the 68th EXP update. Halloween time has come around again and we have the special icons once more. Always good to have an update to time it well with them, although we do get a whole month with the Halloween icons which is plenty of time.

There is unfortunately some bad news for us all. I will soon be retiring my business with the EXP updates in a few months time. Reasons for this are decline of interest in Newgrounds as well as wanting to focus more on what's going on in the real world. There will be two more updates and when I get to the 70th one in December, that will be it whether someone new will volunteer to manage the updates or not.

Now that I've got this out of the way, I'm going back to playing Pokemon X!

NEXT UPDATE: 10th October 2013 (but may need to push it by a week due to real life events)
