FYI - I sent out the prize packs for best of October as well as the Newgrounds Campus Promotion contest. I had them all packed up and sitting here for a while before I actually made the trip to the post office. I've been a shut-in lately, preparing for the trip to France and doing some office renovations. I also get nervous about taking 20 packages to the post office... It takes them a while to process everything. I need to get an office postage scale and printer so I can stop bothering them.
Tomorrow I'm leaving for France to showcase our new game to publishers at a conference. The demo is completely different from the Comic-Con demo in just about every way... The game has gone through some big changes. More on that when we have an official unveiling!
The roof is just about finished. We had a proper hatch installed but we're waiting on the installed ladder to go with it. Gotta have those rooftop barbeques! There is more bad news, though... Having issues with erosion caused by a stream running behind and along-side the building. Apparently some stuff had been dumped in it a few years ago and it has widened a lot. We've noticed it has continued to erode even since I signed the initial paperwork to buy the building - there have been some massive storms and it's just nuts how much damage it has done.
When I get back from France, I need to meet with a structural engineer to develop a retension system to hold back the water. This is gonna end up being more expensive than the roof. It's like surprise after surprise with this stuff, but I hope once all this work is done, the building will be safe and secure for years to come.
I'm bringing a laptop to France, so I'll still be on-line sporadically over the next week. Hope everyone is getting their holiday shopping done!
