I noticed that authors with popular movies have a very high popularity rating, but I rate 200 something of 86000 and i have yet to make a single movie. does it depend on how often u visit the site... how many reviews u write, how many votes, points, etc...?

It's how many times your profile has been viewed.

You can abuse it esaly. It doesn't count when u view your own profile(duh). Here's how to get popular(without cheating): make good movies, make controversal movies, make lots of posts, review alot of movies, get on one of the lists (eg: top scores, most exp points). basicly just get your name out there.
