And it was a damn good deal, too -- considering what it's normally going for. And what it'll undoubtedly be worth later.
For the handful of you who don't know what this is, it's the (very) limited, Zelda: Twilight Princess trailer for DS that was ONLY given to attendees at Nintendo's E3 2005 press conference. Each person was given a ticket upon entering the building, and when the event was over, and the official Zelda trailer was shown on the big screen, Eiji Aonuma came out and informed the crowd (some 300+) that they'd all be recieving the trailer on DS cartridges that were bonuses with their press kits. I feel sorry for who-ever didn't know what the ticket was for and misplaced it, haha. Anyway....
Well, it didn't take long before these started showing up on Ebay. They started innocently enough -- $30, $40.... but when people caught wind that this was the ONLY limited edition DS cartridge ever (and possibly the last), and in such a small number (only 400 were made, and they were only for the event).... you can see why the price started to sky-rocket. Put it this way: In the early 90s there was a Blockbuster tournament for both Donkey Kong Country and Starfox, in which they used a special cartridge. It was only available through Blockbuster, and there were only about 1000 made. On a blue moon, you can catch one on ebay going for over $1000.
There was only 400 of these made, according to Nintendo's "Customer Service Representative" that I talked to yesterday. So, it'll be interesting to see what the value does on this thing.
