Many people think that metal is music for freaks, but I think that it is just a different way of expressing yourself. I mean, death metal is all about hate ,death and destruction, but to be honest, I'm sure everybody has felt like the whole world is against you and you just want to smash all their faces. Death metal shows you that there are people who think like you and understand u. I made this experience on a metal festival. How do you think about it?

No, Death Metal is the One were people think Your Freaks.
Death metal is pretty good music.But if u dress up all weird with makeup then your a freak.
I could be lead vocals in a death metal band, but I decided to keep my voice in tact.
Some of it I find boring, but there's a good amount of bands I do like. I don't really care for the subject matter in the lyrics most of the time, the musicianship is what I go for. Especially bands that bring in other music styles and do something innovative (like Cynic).
A few bands that I listen to in the genre are Nile, Carcass, Cynic, Martyr, Darkthrone (their first album), Hypocrisy, Death.
I prefer Black metal to Death metal but Death metal still rocks.
Death Metal is for over angsty teens who like music that is also angst filled.
Death Metal = Stupid/Too loud
i like all types of metal,Death Metal i like due to the instrumental part however i ned to read the lyric sheet to understand what the hell they are trying to say.However im more for something a bit more satanic.

Unfortunately like the rock mentality of "I listen to this and it makes me a rebel, YEAH!" still applies today with many poser metalheads. But when it comes down to it, that's not what it is about at all.
At the end of the day I would much rather listen to something that sounds good and makes me feel good than some fucking jackass screaming about his tax return or whatever meaningless shit they complane about.

Tell you what, go download a song by Cynic off their album Focus, read the lyrics to the song and pay attention to the musicianship before you make assumptions about the whole genre.
And if you want music that sounds good and makes you feel good, go for their songs "Cosmos" and "Textures". Neither have any angry tax-return screaming, and the latter is purely instrumental.

I know there will be some good heavy metal bands, but in general I don't like the genre, I like a few Black Sabeth songs but as a whole I consider myself more of a classic rock man, I like the oldies. :^)

Only people who like all those Slipknot type bands do that. Heh, the whole reason why black metal bands wear makeup, is because they were trying to look different, when the death metallers were all trying to look normal. They just wore T-shirts and regular stuff.
Now, all these posers are coming and giving death metal a bad name by dressing "scary"

Music is music, if you like it and it helps you vent your problems, i say crank up the volume!

thats Black Sabbath and all of their songs are a classic not a few.
Dont like Death Metal? start yourself off with some more melodic death metal then like in flames then work yourself towards nile or cannibal corpse instead of thinking the whole of it is loud and noisy sos black sabbath but you like that.If you dont like loud and noisy you seriously need to spoften down to some quieter music then.
Death metal is way too heavy. Heavy to the point where it sounds like shit.
Music is music. If people judge you because of music that person is shallow and a waste of time to talk to.
