i got a 24 fps now but the prob is that flash defult is 550X400 - is that what you mean or is it really 500 X 400?

I'm a little worried about the size of mine though, there's a lot of drawn-ness so it seems to be going up kind of quickly... the uncompressed swf is about 50 kbs and will be about 80 maybe when it's finished. Hopefully people doing tweens will balance the overall size out. Chedder, I guess it will be up to you to decide whether it's worth bumping the size or not when I show it to you.

Since mine will be so crap (I am a programmer rather than an artist) people will be ashtonished when they will see yours and will be happy to see good quality.
The change between crap and wonderful art will make them like yours even MORE therefore they will vote more :P

Since Cheddar ain't on yet, I'll put the known details up again so anyone wanting to join in will know what to expect.

First off, basically anyone can join! We still have plenty of spaces open too, so joining wouldn't be a problem. We want to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Newgrounds and we need 100 people to do this, so come on in!

Want to know the details? Sure thing! All we ask is that you pick a number 1-10, create a character, and then animate that character saying that number. Simple no?

So you want to join? Great! Here are a few simple steps to get you started.

1. Pick a number 1-10.
2. Then pick which of the 10 groups you want to be in.
3. Design a character (original or from newgrounds..but we'd prefer original)

Once you've done these three simple steps, you can start work on your contribution! Simply animate your character saying the number you picked (not the group you picked...the number). Here are the details/guidelines to keep in mind while you work.

-The stage must be 500x400 px. No more no less.
-It must run at 24 fps.
-While we will accept all types of animation, we don't want any rated R flashes ok? No nudity or anything of the sort ya got that?
-The background must be white (unless you can convince Cheddar79 that your character would look better with a different color).
-Give it a shadow. There's a simple step-by-step method on shadowing on page 2 of this topic so give it a peek if you need to.
-Keep the length of the entire piece between 2-3 seconds. That's about 60-80 frames. Try to keep it within these limits.
-Put your name somewhere in the flash so everyone will know which one is yours! :)

And that's all there is too it! Remember, all you need to do is animate your character saying the number you picked (for example, if you are in group 4, number 7, your character will say "7"). Once you've finished, send both the .fla and the .swf files to duskj79@hotmail.com.

Yes,I know, but this could be a good strategy to make people think yours is better than what it actually is. I don't have any problems with mine being reffered to the crap one before yours since mine will probably be crap : P

I'm just saying that if it makes people like yours more than it would without my crap one before.Therefore,yours will be PEREFECT instead of just amazing.
People will be so amazed of yours that they will vote high even if the others aren't that good.

This was my point :P

Right guys sorry I haven't been on lately but it looks like this thing has started to run itself.... :)

The only thing I will say is that once you've finished...send me the file both .fla and .swf with you name as the title....

APerv you'res is really cool but sorta hard to understand. And I already have a sound file so I dont need one anymore.

APerv your flash is great in my opinion. The only thing is that the audio sounds a little too airy. Try and make it a little more clear cause its a little hard to understand.

Add some shadows on your character Aperv, give him a little lighting features etc...

and give him a shadow. He also looks like he's floating in air so you might wanna add a floor or bring him further down the stage... :)

It means just what it says. Just create a character, and animate it saying a number between 1 and 10. He just worded it a little weird.
