i have mulled this over with other newgrounds members and i have decided that i should give this club a more clear set of rules and the such.

the reason for this crew?

the point of this crew is to discuss how the art was made, where inspiration was drawn from etc. also people can feel free to ask questions in a casual environment free from the stress of being called a n00b and the such (which i do all the time). also, upon request ratings can be given though a constructive critique or review would be preferred.

what is defined as computer art?

all self made, vector, line art, sigs, photo retouching, slef made desktops, image alteration and scanned drawings are classed as computer art. if you wish to share your art with the rest of the members/on lookers then please post a link and/or resized image.

Membership

you do not have to join but members can participate in monthly competitions and be more active. in other words, if you only have a one time opinion you wish to give then you do not have to request membership before doing so.

levelling

there will be a level system. only members will be included in the levelling system. everyone will start off at level 1. including me as i know i have a lot of space for improvement. increasing in level will come with a small badge to place in your sig if you wish to so you may show off your amazing skills all over the bbs. to increase in level a member must show improvement in both ideas and execution. after all the point of art is to bring dreams to life on paper, or in our case pixels.

rules

the rules are simple.

1.all of the current bbs rules. do not break these rules.
2. do not steal art. in other words do not post others' work unless credit is given.
3. help and not hinder. if a new person comes in and asks a silly question try and remain calm and answer in a pleasant manner.
4. keep it cool and have fun.

failure to comply with these rules will result in the termination of your membership at my discretion.

summary

i hope that these rules and definitions will encourage you to join and will keep this crew a prosperous one. i am working on the badges now. if you wish to join please request and add links to some of your work. i am gladly waiting for your response.

I currently do all of my work in Fireworks, sometimes importing real-life drawings and pictures to vectorize. I work with both bitmap and vector graphics, and also do sprites and web pages.

The attached picture is an old school photo of me that I went over and turned into a sprite. (would not suggest using this method, it is very long and painstaking)

neat. i like how the awesome power of the sun seems to immensley over power the flying debris which is amazingly blurred to create the illusion of speed. the only problem i have with this is that there a little less flying rock for a planet.

not a bad use of effects. though the background looks like turd and moldy cheese. no offence. though i can see what you were trying to do. not a bad effort all in all but stick with the planetary work.

nice balance of glowing and colours. the fact that it is original and new also adds cool points. the blue force field thing adds a magical sense to the image and the opacity changes are also good. good piece of work.
