it would be funny, since everyone is pretty positive its an april fools day joke, if on may 1st, its changed to numagrounds. i would laugh, but then be pissed off

the numa numa dance is not an icon for the future. the numa numa dance isnt even flash, its just a poor quality video of some fat loser dancing to a song. as for bringing in the mature female audience, that is bullshit too. anyone who has ever come to this site knows its geared towards the violent and debased male audience(which i am happy to be part of). in addition, if you bring them in, they will begin voting on the flash and likly get rid of most of the flash we hold dear. it is a stupid ideal and may cause a decline in the flash that brought people to this site in the first place. if you want to destroy this site, then go right ahead. otherwise, LEAVE THIS SITE ALONE.

I think that's a wee bit drastic, I would think that from a business standpoint it would mean that you would start cracking down harder on offenders in the bad flash area or maybe even inforce the rules of what type of flash would be excepted... I dunno. Marketability is one thing but that almost borders on a drastic measure. I mean, I liked the numa numa dance but even with it's popularity I don't see changing the name of the site, maybe the outlook, not the name. I mean, for me, the name newgrounds has sentimental value.

Wow Tom. I know a whole lot of people have already posted replies to your thread and I think its a good idea that you're trying to clean the site up a little bit. But changing it to NumaGrounds? The numanuma dance is a phase that will more than likely fade. Its not horrible, but people aren't going to be talking about it ten years from now like when All Your Base exploded.
I've been coming to Newgrounds for years now and I even remember all the small flash jokes on the mainpage that would run every minute or so. Thats the kind of stuff I liked newgrounds for. I understand you have to make a profit somehow, but newgrounds really isn't a place that most housewives are going to want to visit every day. And if you do change it to NumaGrounds and try to get those sorts of viewers, are you going to change all of your sponsoring to Avon and cooking supplies? I know if my mother came here and saw porn and hentai advertisments she'd be a little disturbed, whether it held her favorite flash or not.
Basically, I say screw the demograhpics and keep newgrounds for generation x. This is a great site already and although change is good, sometimes its not always the best.

Numa dance isn't that great. Yeah, it got positive press review, but what about in a month's time. By changing the web site over this... flash... you are investing in a fab that is liable to collapse very soon. I don't want to see newgrounds become viewed as or remembered as "that one site with numa dance on it". I want it to be remembered as a site with a huge collaboration of ideas and flashes. Even if it does bring a small amount of new traffic, trying to find the Numa Dance, it just isn't a good idea. There are plenty of other ways around the "war-monger" image.
