Still has, though the invites are super easy to get.

Oh yeah I remember when I had to get into a queue to get an invite. I don't know why they did this but anyway it wasn't as bad as Bluesky's invite system.

What's the main difference? Are Bluesky invites that difficult to get?

Well, with Bluesky, there was no queue. In order for you to be able to join, someone who was ALREADY on the platform had to manually invite you. So yeah, not really a fun experience if you know nobody who's on the platform.

However I am just one person and don't have the sites overall analytics, so for anyone who is using the site...how has it been? Is it worth it to start posting your art there yet?

Today I'm extra grumpy so my perspective might be skewed but I feel you.

Bluesky isn't different from anything else - unless you are already notorious or known, you are impossible to find. Tags doesn't work. There's A LOT of political echo chambers and extremisms. I'm a bit salty since my one mature art was tagged as pornography, while I've seen a lot of really questionable content flying under the radar. There aren't that many edgy kids, and I think age average is rather leaning towards 35-45 people, which probably the best aspect of the platform (or I just had real luck avoiding mental cesspool there).

It's a new platform having same issues every other service like insta, fb, twitter, tumblr or whatever else there is, is having.

At this point I'm disillusioned about it being alternative to mastodon, minds or especially - twitter.

Also, I always forget to post there because the only person am following there and is following me, is someone from NG anyways...

BSKY is dead on arrival I suppose.

I think it doesn't really offer anything new, aside from not being run by an infamous person. I honestly can't be bothered to play another algorithm game right now.

I’m not sure this is the best way to look at it. If you’re looking for sheer numbers, the best thing to do is completely abandon everything that makes you unique and just generate a bunch of AI softcore porn.

Use social media to make online friends instead - lasting friendships are more valuable and they will care about your art more than just a bunch of randos who see one image and boost it with likes.

First things first, "Use social media to make online friends instead" is an absolutely terrible statement and you cannot be trusted

Second, the only way to combat AI art is to post and make more art yourself, don't be such a goddamn PUSSY and go all "wah wah wah why even bother posting art anymore AI bros are just gonna get all the glory" you fucking doomer

Tell the people who made Bluesky what happens when anyone tries to make a YouTube substitute, It's nothing but a waste of time and money.

Hmmm. I dunno. Social media like forums, Newgrounds, old Deviantart and small chill Discord servers was the only way for me, a superintrovet, to make any friends!

Bluesky is a nice site, it's basically Twitter's skeleton being cloned but with less emphasis on algorithms and isn't owned by a drug addict with more dollars than sense. I don't think it'll really take off until video/gif support is added. I use it mostly as a backup archive for my work.

Other than being a barren wasteland it’s mainly Twitter with more political talk.

Old age internet is not the same as modern internet space, even on smaller forums

I'm not saying it's completely impossible, but at most it's like a 10% chance

A lot of the time the "friend" will stab you in the back, try to become more than just friends or worse of all they just befriended you because they want to look at their content, they treat you more like a little fan rather than someone they would actually enjoy chatting/talking to

I suppose it's mostly the fault of things like Facebook, Discord and any other sort of chatting or social site where you "meet" a bunch of people at once, it's difficult to form genuine connections online when it feels more like a collection game of icons and numbers

This sounds like your expectations on what a friend should be are a little too high. I personally used to be disappointed about my online interactions the same way you've described it above, until I grew to roll with it and make the most out of my online friendships! :)

I hate Twitter, so there is no reason I would want to use something that tries to be exactly the same as Twitter.

How does that track? By posting your just providing more free training data to ai. There is no "beating" or "combating" ai, we have already lost and the best you can do is ignore its existance and learn how to do shit yourself

But it never caught to that kind of popularity.
