This is or rather going to be, my art thread, for any practice pieces or sketches or whatever. I'm just making it now because of the strict 2 thread per 24 hours limit for new accounts. Just so I don't forget and use up my quota before making this thread. Next post will start posting my sketches or artworks.

Lets do this thing. Really trying to get used to the 50/50 rule, where half of everything I draw is purely for the fun of it. I did this one female cartoon head and decided I liked it while it was still in construction phase. A little rough, but I like it in the end.

My first actually successful consistent values transition from dark to very light(ish). I like how it turned out.

Just practiced one point perspective and I think I'm starting to get the hang of things. Followed an online tutorial and got fairly close to how he did it.

Don't look like you are using a vanishing point. Your z-direction lines are all over the place, instead of coming together in one point.

If you don't follow the steps given in the tutorial, you shouldn't expect to make much progress.

And, you should probably use a ruler. Free-handing good straight lines, precisely positioned, is not easy.

I was using 1 point perspective, but the fact the lines were really off makes it hard to see so now that I notice your output. I'll definitely work on my free hand lines, the same tutorial too used freehand lines, but he was significantly more confident in his lines than I was. Thanks for the feedback, appreciated it.

@perkgrok if the scenario you have any doubts still I truly was using one point perspective, I still have my original paper I drew on before tracing over it on a fresh piece of paper with a lightbox.

I still suffers from unconfident lines trying hard not to screw up, it's paramount for me right now to fix that.

OK. Try again, using a ruler for the guide paper and then you can freehand on the paper that you draw the finished art on. Look at the last part as drawing - aided by guidelines-, rather than as tracing. That are two different mindsets.

I'm definitely going to redo it, with a fresh sheet on a lightbox, and either today or tomorrow show and you my finished new one and I think it will be a significant improvement. I have adjusted as of the past half hour a few things with my techniques and I'm already noticing a change in accuracy and confidence.

Fancied I should get the hang of being fully consciousness of how much pressure I'm applying.

I used GIMP to get different degrees of pressure.

Starting with this post, I'm going to make it a more frequent thing to upload something be it a scrap practice or otherwise.

Now for some perspective.
