Damn sad to see him go, it wasnt that long ago I saw him active. Will never forget his games, the shark-games are just classics and I will never forget back I think when NG got forum editing options, he tried it out on replying to my comment first, felling me first to f*** my self and then just a minute later changed it into offering me a beer instead (and then possible deleted it because I cannot find it anymore). He made my day that day for sure :) Same of course whenever he would release any of his many fun titles. Hell its crazy that he had not one but two very well remembered accounts, castle cats and franks adventure on his old one and the shark games on his newer account among plenty others.

He surely will be missed though. Will have to grab that beer another time. Rip

A very sad day for gamers and game designers everywhere. I always had such fun memories playing the games he made. I was 15 when I played Castle Cat for the first time.

We will miss you Felix. May heaven treat you well.

The deeper you delve, the more strategizing is involved.

I didn't get a chance to chat with him, but I do have memories of playing the games he's made on the web. This was of course back in the 2000s.

Castle Cat being one of them. This one series, Frank's Adventure was pretty fun. Collecting nude photos of various waifus was definitely the best part. Truth be told, some of his stuff inspired me in a way.

For one thing, his legacy is something I'd like to revisit anytime.

Damnn, this was unexpected...

Those sporadic and optimistic posts of his were always fun to stumble upon - rare with creators of such caliber who take time to engage too - and support. And the games he made were iconic. Collections to stay now allotted. The potatoes he cautiously plotted. The grace, the greatness, the appreciation, that ingrained creative wattage... he really seemed like a good dude.

You'll be missed Wiesi. RIP.

I'm so sorry to hear that.

I only know him for making that duck graffiti game, I thought he was some amateur user who had great potential.

I was wrong. Looking at his work he was so much more than I thought.

I underestimated how much Wieso did, and I'm really grateful for him.

Probably I'm the amateur here, heh.

Fuck man, that's a tragedy. I never had the pleasure of talking to Wiesi myself but I always considered him to be a true legend here on Newgrounds. His games weren't just fun to play, they were the type of games you would play with your friends and still remember fondly more than 15 years down the road. I can't help but think of how successful a commercial indie game from Wiesi could have been but I guess now we will never know... He's truly been an inspiration and spreader of joy. May he rest in peace.

This must be answered.

EDIT: Wiesi did post on his news page that he was in the hospital a few months ago, but was eager to continue his projects.

Oh, so he probably didn't recover from his condition?

This was not news I thought I'd see,

Felix's games were one of the highlights of coming to Newgrounds back when I was a kid.

I went on to spend hours playing them and even checking in to his website to see what other cool stuff he made.

When I got to collage I ended up making my own game inspired by what he made,

that game was Home Sweet Halogen, a fast pased side scroller with fast music and over the top score/collectables.

I just played it again to remember what it was like and totally forgot in the intro text the main character says "mausland dot de" in the middle of a speech hes giving.

Its a game I'm proud of and wouldn't be here without Felix.

I'm sorry to hear he's passed.

Thank you for being here Felix

Wiesi is best known around here for the legendary games he made, here’s a few:

Something I really appreciated about Wiesi was that he would drop in on the forums over the years and reply to my news posts. Anyone who has been on NG long-term knows we went through some tough years after the combined impact of the YouTube migration, the Death of Flash and rise of mobile games and apps. Seeing Wiesi in the replies was always a bright spot for me and motivation to keep going. It’s upsetting to think I won’t be seeing him anymore but also a reminder of how a small reply can go a long way in helping people feel seen.

This past year, Felix shared an unfinished game and art made with alcohol markers. He also continued to make encouraging posts, cheering on other artists and ongoing progress with Flash emulation. I wish I could have one more chance to thank Felix for all his positive contributions to NG.

I’ve updated the In Memoriam page and made a long-overdue Sharks series page.

I'm gonna tell myself this is Felix right now:

If you have some favorite Wiesi memories, feel welcome to share them here!

Damn, I never really played any of his games but I have heard about him from friends. R.I.P you will be missed.
