A murder ballad is a genre of folk music that details a murder, from the plotting, to the actual killing, and the aftermath. All in a usually cheerful tone of music. An example of murder ballads are songs made by the now inactive duo American Murder Song. Personally I like murder ballads as a fan of horror and things of the macabre, I would make a murder ballad but I'm not musically trained or talented.
