You're never gonna look at "video game OST" the same way ever again. The above is from Ar tonelico 3.
The language was constructed for the game and adds an extra layer of intent and meaning that no other soundtrack like it does.
All the performances in here are stage worthy.
The first in the Ar tonelico series predated Nier by a whole year (2006, vs 2007).
Secunda of Skyrim
Gourmet Race of Kirby Súper Star
And Sweden of Minecraft
I would go outside and touch grass, but unfortunately there's an obstacle known as
This is a great pick, Tim Follin is an incredible composer
In my humble opinion:
Slime rancher. Haven't played the second one yet but the soundtrack for the first game is incredible
I podcast, make documentaries, cartoons, games and art. I also hate lawns. Love weasels. Am neutral on Snow Cones. I feel nothing about snow cones. Sometimes they are nice.

Personally, I think Hotline Miami 1 + 2 are pretty solid game OSTs. Ever since I first played both games I fell in love with the soundtrack. Love Sun Araw's work in the first game and of course Carpenter Brut and Pertrubator's songs.
Metal Hellsinger also has a killer OST filled with a bunch of metal music with singers from different bands.
I remember getting into it because Serj from System of a Down was used as the final boss's song.
Earthbound OST. I've never heard another soundtrack like it, it's very unique in a surreal and awesome way, and it really fits the vibe of the game.
One of my favourite songs from it is the theme for Moonside, it really captures the weird and eery feeling you get in that area. But really, all the songs are great at immersing you into each area of the game.
Gonna throw out the My Sims Agents soundtrack. It might just be nostalgia talking, but I think it has some really great tracks.
Not sure about 'the best', but certainly some of my favourite OST's to listen to:
There's alot more than that, the above are just what immediately comes to mind right now.

I would have to say Zelda Wind Waker. The entire Adventure in the game has tons of memorable music that makes the game as charming as its art style.
"Born on a cold seafloor, it will swim great distances to return to its birthplace"
too many choices, there might be some OST considered more influential or iconic (say Megalovania or Cynthia's theme, due to the massive popularity in meme culture).
Personally as well, I can't give a clear answer. It depends on the mood.
for BG music, any animal crossing soundtrack, New Leaf for nostalgia factor
ambient, I'm loving this Cyberpunk 2077 ost: https://youtu.be/zz3o6aS4b20
(Outsider No More - Plays in various parts of the best girl questline)
another song that despite not having played the game yet still intrigues me is Terra's theme from FFVI: https://youtu.be/PiI7rDqv9FQ
(I'll play this game eventually!)
again too many OSTs come to mind from lots of series, both mainstream like Dark Souls, ER, Skyrim. But also indies like Hotline Miami. Too many to count, sorry!
I'll be unoriginal and say Undertale and Deltarune, but one of my favourite soundtracks of all time has to be from Sonic '06. No, I'm not kidding. Game may have been unfinished as fuck but the OST is one of the best gaming soundtracks I have ever heard. That, and with Project '06 now being a thing, the game itself is getting a facelift, too!
