There's not exactly a deadline, it's just whenever all the slots are filled like @aapiarts mentioned.
As of now there are 6 slots left, 1 black and 5 white.
If you need more time for yours , still type out the [Black Slot] or [White Slot] thing, and then put "Reserved" or something in the comment so we'll all still know how many are left and things don't get off track.

I'd also like to try one where we bump it up a bit or so.
Having even just 3 colors greatly expands what you can do!

The meta image would be like a 16x16 sprite, say, like the original Mario sprite from SMB. Each slot would be a perfect square with one predominate color. Then each drawing would need to be monochromatic (same/similar hue, different values and saturation). If we make each image follow the same theme (video games just as an example), then we've got something that I think would be truly frontpage worthy.
