Hello, welcome to my art thread! I try to make new art fairly frequently and one of my goals with my work is constant experimentation and improvement, I’ve been known to improve at a rather quick pace. I hope my art is to your liking, I’ll try to keep the thread updated regularly and respond to replies best I can, hopefully the more I add to the thread the more my improvement can be demonstrated. First is my current profile image, it’s a redraw of a redraw and I plan to iterate on it every few months:

This is a profile portrait I made of one of my original characters, named Jenny, it started off as a drawing study of just her skull that I had fun adding to over the course of a week until I settled on the finished product shown:

A piece of fanart I made for the artist Goonie-san of his character Mercy, depicted in a fighting pose inspired by Street Fighter. It’s the most ambitious piece I’ve made thus far, with the most experimentation put into just one piece:

A profile icon I did for the artist Yellow K9 based on the aforementioned piece of Jenny, it’s actually the second of three raffle prizes but I am most happy with how this one in particular turned out:

A piece of fanart I did a while ago of The Bad Guys homaging the car scene from Pulp Fiction, before the Mercy piece this was my most ambitious work, and thus far it’s my most popular piece I’ve done:

My most recent piece as of starting this thread, a piece of art I did of my original character Misty dressed as the character Misty from GTA III, I’m particularly happy with how it turned out, especially with how fun the stylized shading was to do:

I felt since I’m now on Newgrounds, there would be no better time than now to finally draw fanart of my favorite NG series, Blockhead:

I am, though my association with such at this point is mainly for the art. It’s not the only thing I’m interested in, but it is the main thing I draw.

I really enjoyed making the Blockhead fanart before, enough so that I decided that my current project is another Newgrounds fanart: I have been recently getting back into Madness Combat after over a decade removed from it, and I wanted to draw something related to the series, settling on one of the Agents in a more detailed design than I’m accustomed to, with three or four specific variations planned; it’s a lot of fun to work on, even if its sketch has been taking me the whole day, attached below:

I decided to make a smaller art piece today to unwind in-between working on the Madness fanart, a shitpost art of Lucy from Elfen Lied: it’s my second piece of such that I’ve done, and I’m considering making this sort of thing an art series within my work, making silly art of my favorite anime whenever I get ideas for it.

I finally finished the Madness fanart, I even tried something new with it: I wanted to see what would happen if I fed my textured coloring through CSP’s shading assist feature, and it turns out that it creates some incredibly wild results, I’m considering making it part of my art style because I like it so much.

I’ve been toying around a bit more with this new shift in my art style, I’m really enjoying how it further enhances the coloration and makes the work look less flat in the process:

In-between working on a piece for someone else today I took a break to give my character Jenny another full redesign, I’m really happy with how it turned out:

Yesterday I had to start over on what I was working on, to keep productive the rest of the day I colored in my recent sketch:

Another quick sketch, this one of Diane Foxington: I’m considering doing a full piece of her next I get the chance, but currently I have a lot in my queue to get to so this is all I can do of her for now.

I decided to do a small full piece to stay productive today, a loose idea I had for a bee character; I’m iffy on certain details but people I’ve shown her to seem to like her.

As I’m in the middle of moving, I don’t have time to work on anything substantial, so to keep productive I decided to flesh out my new character, Donna.

I like to entertain the concept of using minimal wording and small graphics to illustrate the characterization of my characters in reference sheets as a way to make the contents easily understandable even to people whom don’t speak English or simply can’t read it.

Hopefully this helps illustrate the thought process behind my characters, as well as how much effort I put into fleshing out even a simple character such as this.

As I’ve been settling into my new apartment I’ve not been able to make anything substantial as of yet, only being able to make small sketches: one sketch I have made is adding a bit more to the design of my new character Donna, I’ve been toying around with giving her freckles and a different eye shape to make her face less flat. Hopefully in the next few days I’ll be able to make a bigger piece again before getting back to my art queue.

After a break for my health, I’ve finally made a new substantial work:

Last year I made a fanart piece for my favorite artist, Ryoichi Itou, around this time of year: to my surprise I had finished it only a couple days from his birthday, and I decided that it would be an impromptu birthday present for him, which he loved. This year I decided to make him another piece based on my favorite garage kit model of his, intending it to be a birthday gift this time, I’m very pleased with how it turned out. Happy birthday, Ryou.

This weekend’s project is me making a deeply personal art piece based on Gustav Klimt’s 1909 painting Judith II: I’m hoping to have it finished by tomorrow, but I’m very happy with how it’s turning out thus far.
