May 6th was Pico Day, a celebration of all things Newgrounds! Judging has wrapped up and the winners have now been decided. Thanks to a last-minute $1k contribution from The Funkin' Crew, prize tiers have been expanded!

“I played with a controller which was a fun experience (would recommend). This was tough as nails, but the character designs and animations were dripping with style. I had trouble learning the "tells" from the boss patterns so didn't make it too far, but still spent a good amount of time retrying the bosses over and over cuz the game felt so solid. Those fx for when your bullets connect were ace!” -BoMToons

“I thought this was going to be "just another simple picross game" - but was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a detective/murder mystery storyline to be uncovered! Voice acting of the "interrogation" clips was a ton of fun. I was also intrigued by the inclusion of all the artworks as the tiles in the picross game itself. “Cool little Pico-like (I'm coining the term, here and now!). The boss patterns felt like they needed a little bit more to them to make them interesting/challenging, and it was also a little smidge short for a Pico-like, though that might be from how quickly I could dispel the bosses along with a forgiving death penalty. Might just come down to people's taste on difficulty! Art and story and everything else was pretty good, nothin' to sneeze at! Also @TrickWithATwist you're welcome for the Pico "meow/woof" sounds! Thank you @Dry for organizing the Pico Day Album Collab! It was hard to place in the official rankings since so many people were involved and some of the individual songs were entered as standalone entries. It was a big highlight of the day, though!
