Now's as good of a time as ever to publish an update to my judging standards. This is basically a detailed explanation of my rubric when I'm scoring submissions for the competition. Please ask me any questions in the news post comment section. I'd highly recommend that contestants with 15 fans or fewer read these standards, as I'll probably be judging your group(s) during the first round. Godspeed, everyone!

To submit a track for tryouts, just click “respond to this topic” in the top-right corner of this webpage, and post a link to your track. For this round, it can be something you wrote years ago, or you can make it from scratch specifically for the competition. You can also change the piece you’d like us to judge by posting a new one before the deadline.
When’s the deadline?
You have until 23:59 (11:59 p.m.) Eastern Daylight Time on July 21, 2022 to enter the competition.
How will I be scored/judged?
Immediately after the tryout submission phase, the participants will be grouped evenly based on their fan totals, and about half of them will be accepted into the next round. Participants won’t directly compete outside of their groups until the Final Round. There are 3 rounds over the course of about 2 months.
What happens if I win?
Prizes will include custom-made forum signatures for the top 3 finishers boasting of their success in the competition, as well as spots on the front page of the Audio Portal the week after the competition. You can also expect to improve your music, meet a ton of awesome people, and gain some more exposure on the site.

Good luck everyone! I have never done this before...
This is an experimental piece I was working on when I saw the invite! I am a metal drummer and I wanted to make an intense song using my electric kit. The song is about the 3 Elder Cyclopes in greek mythology who forged Zeus' Lightning Bolts, among other things. They were imprisoned by their father, then again by the Titans. Finally they were let free by Zeus to participate in a war against the Titans!
The song tells the story. The beginning introduces the Elders with sounds of dejection and strife, the middle has a triumphant feel to it as they are given a purpose, then the ending is the War being fought! Enjoy!
