Hello everyone! I hope everyone's doin well with METAL MAY!!

Alright, I'll attempt. This month's pretty tough. But I've posted some video references alongside my piece and I'll repost them HERE as well! Hopefully they'll be useful to you guys as you continue to chug away at this month's challenge!

Video #1: This one's the longest, but also the most comprehensive when it comes to metal and painting technique, with a specific concentration on armor pieces. But the tips here can be applied to a bunch of metal varieties.

Video #2: The shortest of these that actually distinguishes between different metal types, with a speedpaint toward the end to boot.

Video #3: This one focuses primarily on chrome or reflective metal and the tutor is kind of annoying, but the theory in it is still very solid.

Hello hello everyone! June is on its way, which means SUMMER and a new MessyPaints poll!! This one is gonna be little different, and a bit of a riff on the LIGHTING CHALLENGE from April, but with BACKGROUNDS and a scene, instead just a character. On the bright side, the actual subject is a lot more open-ended. You guys are to paint any outdoor location from the summer-y gamecube classic Super Mario Sunshine, and you're voting on the TIME OF DAY that the scene takes place in. They're a greater focus on the background and environment for this challenge, but adding some characters is fine, as long as they're not the main focus. Every background artist will tell you that showcasing a location at different times of day is ESSENTIAL for a portfolio, so hopefully you guys can get a nice portfolio piece out of this one! The poll is up on my Twitter now so GO VOTE!

To continue into July, we're painting some of my favorite summertime foods! Cause I'm hungry this month and it works as a food related still life challenge. Which any high school art teacher will tell you is really where you're really supposed to start with painting. THE POLL IS UP ON MY TWITTER! Vote on whichever option makes you hungrier!

You probably won't be featured on the review stream until next month's. But if you're alright with that and still want to complete the challenge then feel free to finish it at your leisure! I totally understand life stuff getting in the way!
