Personally I realized SOME of my art comes out better under certain circumstances, and I get freaky dreams if I go to sleep while in pain

Depends how comfortable and experienced I am in the task at hand. If I know how to do something and have had lots of practice behind it, then yes I work well under pressure. If I'm not familiar with the task, it tends to go poorly.
