I ended up doing the Sweet Sixteen Comic Contest instead of giving Demoncember another run. I'll probably do something like it in January, but I am TIRED.

Hands are one of my weak points, so I'm going to stop being bad at it.
doing 100 hand studies over the next week or so; here's the first 25

The only hand I can draw is the middle finger.

But that's just a finger, you gotta attach a hand to it
Your weak points are stronger than a lot of artists' strongest points! :D Don't sell yourself short. Don't fall for that imposter syndrome, my friend!

Ehh, less of an imposter syndrome or selling myself short, more of an assessment of where I've plateaued and refusing to sleep on it. I see myself as capable of doing better, so I will.
That's part of why I push people so much; anyone can improve if they put the work in; I'm just taking my own advice for the first time in a while.
Halfway through my self-imposed hand-drawing challenge.
A repeatable method is starting to reveal itself to me. I'm starting to use less strokes and rely less on construction lines. I dare to hope that maybe something I'd call a "style" will emerge from this exercise.
I modified a few other people's construction methods to revolve mostly around those little bent 3D shapes because they're repeatable for the knuckle and middle joint of each finger, and it's easy for me to envision. I used to do it differently, now I do it like this and it feels better. I feel my power level rising.
75/100 done
I took all my refs this time from My Hero Academia because I like how they do hands.
I finished these a while ago but forgot to post. Bit more risque when it's hands interacting, hmm hmm hmm

Ooh hands! Been looking at drawing hands and breaking them down into basic shapes.
Time for legs. Soon it will be time for arms.
Arm time has come. Figure time has come somewhat
One for the scrap heap. I really want to do this scene from FFXIV justice but I went at it in a really boring 2D way. Just got less and less interesting the more I worked on it, but I don't mind the sketch at least.

3 minute gestures, need to do more of these. Should record them. Should peer pressure others to do it.

Peer pressure other's into recording you doing 3 minute gestures. I've been using pose maniacs for my figure drawings lately. Cool to see other people gesturing it up.

Well it worked on me lol about to jump into sum long-needed gestures :P
Which program/site did you use for your models? Im using Line-of-Action myself, but forget if you mentioned what you use.

I've just been searching for timed drawalongs on YouTube so far. They make the selections so I don't have to (and get pushed into doing more difficult stuff.)
Gonna give Line of Action a try though; looks right up my alley.

Yeyeyeyeye theyve got lots of options and variety, I spent soooooo much of my early art training on the "Class" mode that ramps up from 30 sec gestures to a full 10 min study. Highly recommend :D
Did Line of Action's animal setting, all on a 5 minute limit.
I forgot how difficult animals are; improvising construction shapes and not having enough time to check scale carefully resulted in a lot of wonk, but the fun thing is that unlike humans, it's harder to spot the mistakes, ohohohoho
