Chinese spear war propaganda

Like maybe it was made back then to psyche people out.... But ...arent they hamming this stuff up a little. Often in Chinese war movies, usually i think they have some beef with the Japanese. But... i really doubt on the battle field that this is not something you can counter, bam destroy that red cloth, spear, counter, attack guy etc. Like just seems like an overhammed propaganda stuff. I really doubt this stuff has huge effect.

Just seems a tad bit hammed up. Just saying. Its alright... but its not Oh WOW BLIND, cant see oh no. Like i just feel... its a little hammed up is what i mean.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qiang_(spear)

Edit: I mean historic reasons seems to have its benefit, like for example "to stop the flow of blood getting onto the wood" (that does seem practical and makes sense and useful just to mention a few), but the movies really feel like they ham it up that its just no way you can counter it, like i feel like its hammed up in those instances. Just from what i have seen

Just one example of a regular footage of this spear atleast, not a movie, just i think to show an example of the use of the spear

I mean maybe to explain it better. As psyche, i think it has a effect to some cases, to psyche the enemies atleast to add it on that level when fighting but everything has weaknesses usually.. I just dont believe its like they present it in those movies that " cant see... how am i suppose to even counter or win" like that is just nonsense in my view

even with minimal training a bloke with a spear will take down a swordsman 70% of the time...
since a spear can be used to create well needed distance...

Unless you can dodge it, though yeah it does seem hard in terms of length distance and a deadly strike. Depends who is faster really, but if its an army... that i guess settles it

Swords=weebs and poofters
Spears= dudes who have wars to win.

Historical mass graves don't lie.

Also historical fact:

Barbarians are shit at warfare, and the romans conquered the known world because of their willingness to conform to authority and submit to their superiors, obeying without question their orders even it it meant their death.

You know, basically the the exact opposite of AlphaFAIL dipshittery.

Sometimes a sword is necessary.

I am not saying ancient chinese culture didnt have its clever way of inovating good war methods of self defense. I am just saying i dont buy that its that effect that its like you cannot see anything outside the red. It just sounds a tad bit hammed up, for psyche effect, yes that sounds legit. But "oh no cant see... this is just too much".. nah

To be fair, the british wore red uniforms so the soldiers could not see the blood of their comrades and become afraid. The chinese method is to add red to the spear, tricking the eyes of the opposition into thinking more blood has been drawn than actually has.

I mean, if whether you live or die could be swayed <1% by tying a red rag around the end of your spear, most people would do it even if it was probably just a superstition.

It doesn't matter what country you're from, almost all warfare was conducted by a spear, and a sword or short spear would be used as a "sidearm" of sorts, but not as a main weapon usually.

Like how today, RIFLES are the go-to for most militaries, but soldiers will often carry pistols as a sidearm.
