Every now and then publishers will run promotions where they give away retail games for free. It's one of the nice fringe benefits of giving up physical media and actual ownership of your games.

This is a place to alert your fellow cheap-ass Newgrounds buddies of any freebie deals.

For example the Humble Store has the Special Edition of Shadow Warrior (2013) free. If you already have the base game you can use this to upgrade to the Special Edition.

Despite my PC couldn't handle this much blast processing, I'm getting this just in case when I bought a beefier machine. Well, my PC could run Burnout Paradise at a playable framerate, but not-so-much on a PS2 emulator.

Time to bust a move and get it started. Time's wastin'.

Not on steam, Gog or humble, but a currently in development FTL like game that has enough in to be a small indie game but is currently free due to development. Here

I'd recommend it; it has space battles, ship and fleet management, custom blueprints and I think other users ships are actually added into the game.

Nice thread. Not a full game, but in case anyone hasn't heard the Stormy Ascent DLC level for the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was released a day or two ago, but it's only free for 30 days. Even if you don't have the game yet, you can download the extra level now just to have it on your account.

Jotun on Steam was free. Not sure if it still is.

Daggerfall is free by Bethesda for those who didn't know.

It maybe old but it was one a real comprehensive RPG; it takes place over 3 provinces and features an actual court system instead of just paying 1000 gold to get away with murder.

Outlast and dlc is available for free to own on Humble bundle right now. The page has been getting high traffic though so it may show as not found, but I was able to get one and redeem it just now.

Seen any interesting games on Origin's On the House section? A free Dragon Age Inquisition would definitely be nice...

Keep 'em coming, boys.

Sanctum 2 is free on Humble Bundle. Which means you get a Steam key if you're not familiar with Humble Bundle and you prefer Steam.

I meant to post about this yesterday when I got the email from Humble Bundle. I've never actually played an X-Com game but I've seen other people play and always thought it looked interesting. Does anyone have personal experience with this one? Is it any good?

I've added it to my Steam library, so maybe one day I'll find out for myself.

If you're thinking this is the turn-based strategy game, that's Xcom: Enemy Unknown. The Bureau is a different game that was intended to reboot the traditionally turn-based strategy game series into a first-person shooter (kind of like the Syndicate reboot from around the same time). At the time they hadn't announced Enemy Unknown so the fan outcry was pretty vocal and the game ended up getting delayed for a while and it became a third-person squad-based shooter with a small amount of tactical control over your squad mates. I never played it, but I remember it getting pretty tepid reviews at the time and it quickly got forgotten so you can be forgiven for confusing it with Enemy Unknown.

Layers of Fear is free of on Humble Bundle. It's decent enough if you want a spooky game in the the Walkin' Around genre.

The Red Solstice is currently free on the Humble Bundle site.

Not really of any interest to me but thought I'd share anyway.

A few months late, but in case anyone hasn't heard: they added a PUBG-ripoff Battle Royale mode to Fortnite, and now that mode is available as a free standalone download that you don't need the base game to play.

It's on Xbone and PS4 as well, so worth trying if you're a console gamer who felt left out when everyone in the universe wouldn't shut up about PUBG.
