Here's another portfolio dump in the forums. Hope you enjoy pals.

Been a bit since I made anything new because I've been focused on an art competition going on at ARTSTATION. It's been a long time since I've worked on anything painterly like this but I said fuck it and decided to give it a shot.

So I'll start this party off with what I've been working on so far. This is just me thumbing down an idea I settled with.

Started finalizing one of the thumbs. Still wasn't sure what was going down with the character in the foreground so focused on cleaning up the creature and background to keep my sanity in check.

Started seeing something in this one so started moving forward.

Took a long walk to figure out the character out some more and did some writing. Changed her quite a bit from her original design.

Final sketch ready for some color roughs.

And here's where I'm at. Contest ends on Monday and I got to grind on this quite a bit before it's ready.

Nice work so far. I really like the creature design. The face shape on its forehead is kind of creepy.

Thanks. The contest is titled "The Journey", basic idea is to create an original scene of a character on a journey.

Just an update. Backgrounds basically finished minus some polish. Still working on the creature but should be done relatively soon.

Only one day left to get this out.

Gave myself a few days off from art after the contest but it's time to get back to the grind. Here's a sketch I made to get back into the swing of things.

Alright, so I've thrown myself into yet another Artstation challenge. Get the full details over HERE.

So I've spent the last two days coming up with some ideas and thumbnails.

Here's where I'm at. Just finished some stage 2 refining to tweak composition and explore potential.

I have to choose two so at the moment I'm leaning on top and bottom right. Bottom left is a third option that I'd really like to paint regardless of the competition.

Top right (Jedi VS the Smuggler) - I'm not 100% sure on the Jedi's pose. I want it to read that the Jedi is strangely aggressive and intimidating. To give an interesting contrast to what you'd normally perceive a Jedi to be. I'll try out some more in the next sketch pass.

Bottom right (Wrangling a Tie Fighter) Clones don't get enough love so thought I'd make a bad ass one left over from the Clone Wars doing something completely insane. So what better way to do that than have him grappling hook a tie fighter and set some explosives to it?
