Flash Games are, in my humble opinion, the shiz. This is why i'm making this post. Newgrounds is the last of the big three, and i'm afraid because we may be the last big flash site on the web. A long time ago, all nations lived in harmony, the "middle east" of the flash game sites to the south, (miniclip, maxgames, ect) Kongregate to the west, Armorgames to the east, and Newgrounds heading the charge into a bright and glorious age of flash. But everything changed when gamestop successfully took out kongregate. (seriously, has anyone been over there recently? its flooded with horrible content and its like the "adopt a puppy" commercials on tv you see sometimes.) Armor games is holding on with the occasional good piece, but i'm afraid no one is seeing the fact that its impenetrable walls may soon fall to the griefers and spammers, and the south's fields are barren and have no new content. I feel like Newgrounds is the only big leaguer left. This is why i call upon my brothers in arms and say we develop a plan-of-action. Maybe something along the lines of a "restoration" of sorts. maybe we run a fundraiser to get enough money to buy the rights to kong, or we enlist the help of armor games to create a "republic" of sorts. I'm not necessarily the man for this job, i just want to know if anyone else feels the need for change. EDIT: tom gets this, he discusses this in his news. At least hes making an effort. WOO Newgrounds!

There's really no contest with anyone else. Sure, Youtube may have a large selection of animations as well, but they don't have games and their shit/not-shit ratio is far worse than ours has ever been.

It's going down at some point in the future. The supporter upgrade is able to keep newgrounds afloat for some time. But I don't think it'll be able to keep it online forever.

I'm doing my best to keep flash games alive, I mean they're not the best..But I try..Feel free to check some of it out..Anyways Newgrounds can't fall, it won't, flash will revitalize itself !

If NG survived 16 years,I'm sure it can survive another. I know things have changed but we can only hope for the best.

Goddammit i didnt come here to bitch about the potentiality of the site going down. I came to you gentlemen in the hopes of finding a solution. For example, we could run a fundraiser annually, asking for armorgames help in donations, and we split the pot. or maybe we make a change.org petition on trying to get kong back from the depths of hell.

We already have that. It's called the badly drawn dicks and tits from the unscouted artists on here who get a stick up their ass when they realize we're not like deviantart and not just any random jackoff can upload stuff directly into the art portal.
The real problem is that many of the great artist that was here has to make money somewhere in-order to live. and dumping them into a free site like this won't generate enough for them to survive so they resorted to this new site "Patreon" to get people to donate money per month.
And what more is that many upcoming artist are being broken by debt from For profit art school.
What Tom should do is provide class lesson for free to people who want to learn from him and maybe other artist. And we need to somehow influence them back into culture again.
Atm I'm sure its all the student debt that preventing people from being creative.

NG has made it this far, it's been around for years and will stay around for years. Yes we are all aware of the financial issues but it's the same for everyone these days. Have faith and keep flowing positive vibes, all will be well.

While Flash is inevitably going in the direction it is - people seem to be forgetting that there will the demand for browser based games and they aren't just going to disappear. There'll be a technology to replace flash games on the web, (or at least a cleaner method to run .swf).
I'm sure NG is more than capable of adapting. They've been around longer than a lot of people here have been alive

Well, NG has been on for so much time now, it's literally a huge chunk in the web. It won't be doomed, there'll always be a large enough influx of members. And besides, NG has great audio, art, and movies that simply can't be replaced. Even if the trend on swf games goes down, NG still has backup to rely on. NG could also just showcase something else, though I dunno what.

Well this is what I'd do
1. Make new grounds mobile friendly. Market it to kids as a website full of free apps to play.
2. Move to HTML5 and MP4 which I'm pretty sure they're already doing
3. Spend more on games and sponsorships. Implement multiplayer server possibilities. Unity itself is very powerful.
4. Continue improving community with chat and matchmaking for 3.
5. Do more video marketing. Have yearly top 10 for movies and games in video complications, sort of like the mochi awards on YouTube. Also maybe adds on other sites.
