Well, I actually did it. I actually finished something for NATA... sorta. I didn't really like this theme, though I was determined to do something that seemed so far away from the theme yet still fit it, and I ended up writing a cartoon that would probably be around 7 minutes long. I definitely coulda got that done by the deadline if I had gotten no sleep, but I kinda spoiled myself and it made it hard to deal with getting less than 10 hours of sleep a night, though I did manage to get barely any sleep for a few days, including the past 3 or so days. I realized I wouldn't be able to finish the full cartoon in time, and I really wanted to submit some sort of finished product, so instead of just submitting whatever I had done plus the rest of it as a storyboard, I decided to have this alternate cut that is missing most of the plot and has an alternate end but I think it still fits the theme and works well enough.
I had fun making this at least. I hope I make it into the next round, 'cause I really wanna make another NATA cartoon. I'll definitely be better prepared and more willing to not sleep next time ;3.

Also, I do intend to finish the full cartoon. I decided it'd probably be best to just make two versions of it. The shorter version for the competition, and the longer version, which I'll finish when I have the time.
Well a little over two hour remain, I just wanted to say I had a really good time competting (even though it is the open round) and regardless of weather or not I make it in to the next round im really looking forward to seeing what the next theme is :) and also how the tournament turns out, some friendly competition always brings out the best in people's work. Ohhhhhh....just one more day...that's all I need!!!!! Damn...not sure I'm gonna make it in time, but if I somehow manage to then it'll suffer a late penalty. Either way...I'm finishing it - I've worked very hard on this one and I'm very proud of it.

Ran into a ton of major problems when working on this, lost a huge chunk of my final version and had to revert back to an old version. As a result, its really incomplete. Big thanks to BooneBum for his help. As well as AmazingLarry, Flikkernicht, Fetusbabe, and TheGoatee.

Good luck to everyone. I've been trying and trying but it's just not likely that I'll be finished in time, which is a damn shame. And I really don't want to submit unfinished work - what's the point? However...I really liked the theme "10 Amazing Facts" and I had SO much fun making this animation. I'm going to finish it anyway because I've already put a lot of work into it, plus I'm excited about this one. I'm hoping to finish tomorrow.
Does unfinished work even stand a chance when I'm already losing 15 points for the late penalty?

You should still finish it and share it! You could even set your Preview to "Public" instead of "Project Members Only" and link to it in this thread for now.
