I think Dungeon Keeper 2 was better. That was a pretty fun game. Using the torture chamber to convert the heroes to your side was great, except for the fact that your creatures despised them, and if you had too many they'd get angry. I loved making huge training rooms and making my creatures the strongest they could be. Haven't played it in a while though.
The point is... Don't lose your dinosaur.
I bought that game a few years ago and I had fun with it, but it doesn't work with windows XP.
I never bothered looking if a patch existed though.
