But that doesn't seem to be a remake, the 1:1 rule applies to remakes doesn't it? This one is just a reupload of the track, the audio pretty much cancels out if you play both the stolen ng upload and the original upload at the same time with one's polarity inverted. It should be flagged as stolen audio and not as a 1:1 remake in this case.

You have a good point on a lot of this stuff, and this isn't necessarily against you, but... we do make exceptions where humanly possible, right? I gotta say, what about Sabrepulse and other popular chiptune artists? Technically, any "8-bit" artist can be automatically fucked by the VST/synth rule. SP uses Gameboy samples, but a lot of VSTs come remarkably close to reproducing these sounds. Create a somewhat similar melodic progression to any of those works, and now the rule comes into play despite the artist's intention.
