Yessss!! I rarely come to this site anymore but I always try to make it back for the Halloween writing contest. This is my favorite. Unfortunately I didn't have time to participate last year, but the year before I won some money so I'm looking forward to a repeat. Good luck to everyone who enters!
I see we already have a few entries! I'm glad to see people are enthusiastic. However, the deadline isn't for another few weeks. Make sure to proof read, edit, and revise! This isn't a race-- you don't get bonus points for finishing quickly. The longer you work on your story, the better it'll end up.

Man, I didn't proof read my story thoroughly. I feel like such a failure.
I'm throwing my hat in as a judge. Also, since there seem to be many entries, and some pretty good ones too, I'll add $10 to the prize pool for the first place winner (last time I gave the first place winner, BoobMarley $10 but there is a .59 surcharge so the winner will actually get $9.41 >.>; winenr must have Paypal account).
Also, everyone be sure to title your story, re-read your story at least once, and remember that if you need help or peer-edits, you can ask anyone here. I'm sure someone would be willing to exchange stories and peer-edit/revise.

I'll make a news post and put all the reviews on my page when I'm finished. I'm only 8 entries in (started yesterday), but I must say that I really enjoyed Chronamut's poem, despite the superficial flaws.

Heh, yeah... when I was younger of course it was just a cute little song, but as I began actually paying attention to the world around me a little more... I realized how jacked up that 'Song' really is...O.o!

Ugh been on a tough film set this weekend. Need to get my energy up and write this thing tomorrow. 1/3 done. The whole story's in my head, just gotta find the groove to write about 2,000 more words.
I think you guys will like this one. It will probably have too much pathos to actually be considered scary, though. More horrific than creepy. Appealing more to a sense of hatred than fear.

I've actually already reviewed every story except the last 3 (which were submitted today). I expect about 5-7 more stories to trickle in until Oct. 31 midnight, but I'll review them as they come in (should finish Kris's by tonight).
Expect them within 1-2 days (at least that seems to be what riggormortis has implied).
