Which version of Windows?

1.x through 3.x were nothing more than a prettier DOSSHELL.

95 holds a special place, if only because it's the first version I extensively used.

98 holds a similar place, because it was released the year I was born.

I still have strong feelings for XP. It's the one I've used for by far the longest. It's amazing that what once was considered outrageous requirements is now very modest.

But I like 7 a lot. It's faster than XP on my current hardware, but it doesn't play very nice with my old games. Because of this I switched back to XP.

I hate 8. Nothing more to it.

I'm using Vista, I can't figure out why it gets so much hate. Win8 on the other hand is utter garbage, the updates implemented in 8 could have easily been released in a service pack for 7.

I had to use 95 for awhile before we were able to get 98 ._.

we couldn't afford to get a computer with Windows 98 on it when it came out.....

I use Windows 7 myself and I think it works fine. I used to have XP which was good as well. I also worked with Vista for a bit, but I thought it was a terrible OS. As for older Windows OS' I cannot remember much about them. I know I used to play games on a computer with MS-DOS and Windows 95, but I was too young to know anything about computers and their performance.

I use Vista at the moment, it's not as bad as everyone says if you get a few tweaks done but XP will always be my favorite, most loved Windows OS

My first PC had Windows 3.0. We enjoyed playing Klik N' Play. We would also make 'folder mazes' and make little paint files and text files, which we would store on 3.5 inch floppy discs. Wish I could remember some of the other games.

Commander Keen and shit I still played when I was an adult on Windows XP so that doesn't count

You and me both, man. But that guy was born in 98. Considering this fact, he had to be about 6 when he used a computer for the first time, maybe 5. So let's say the first time he used Windows 95 was in 2003-04, and he said he used it extensively. So depending on the meaning of extensively, I'd say 3-4 years. So he says he used Windows 95 until 2007 or 2008? Doesn't make sense to me. There's being poor, and then there's being extra freaking poor. People that poor shouldn't even be able to afford a computer anyway.

It of course depends on how you define stupid. Of course we have a different definition, thus the confusion. Even brilliant people do some stupid things, but if a substantial amount of the decisions you make lead to ignorant results then you are stupid. Anything above 30%. I could spend all day telling you what I mean specifically, and we could argue for a week, or I could use the overly general dictionary definition, which is pretty much worthless.

Anyway, most people view stupidity in terms of frequency. We may vary on where we draw the line, but that is the commonly held view. The best we can do in terms of that specific idea in the English language. To say that I must have done at least a few stupid things in my life (which is true) and then say that one bad decision makes me stupid is about as pointless as saying that one good decision makes me smart.

If you want to nitpick that is up to you, of course. It seems like a popular pastime around here, for people that want to pump of their egos, but about as useful as being a grammar nazi on a forum.

Addendum: I only used it for maybe a few months then the GFX card died. I had a second handmedown in 02 and 03 which also ran 95, i think. It eventually met the same fate as the other one.
