Give up cartoons? No way. Cartoons expand the imagination and influence the lives of many people even into adulthood.

Or whatever. I'm not a fucking expert on imagination or cartoons.

Even as a adult I don't think I could truly break away from anything that is animated new or old There's still some good stuff to catch.

Me and my girlfriend always watch cartoons whenever we have some time to spare.

I never liked the idea that cartoons were something everyone would eventually have to "outgrow", I think that's a negative stereotype. Most cartoons are written with more adult viewers in mind, and of course I tend to gravitate more towards those.

Programs like Adventure Show, Gravity Hills, and Regular Time we enjoy, since the writing is often quick and witty.
Avatar: Wind Kid was very well-written, and posed a fun and interesting premise.
Many of the [adult swim] toons kind of suck IMO. Animated sitcoms like South Place, Family Man, and the Simpletons were great in their earlier seasons, but anytime something goes on for too long the quality slips. I'll enjoy an earlier-season episode or two.

I may never stop watching Disney and Pixar animations. Wreck-it Ralph was the shit.

I like aliens and robots too much.

Oh yeah and I feel like I should point out I'm not too fond of anime. Sorry, but I just don't see the appeal.

As far as I'm concerned, here's how I see it:

Anime: applies to a very specific and rule-bound art style.
Everything else: literally anything other than anime.

I'm fairly certain that there are anime that are for children, such as Pokemon or Doremon out there, it's just that very few people know about them, aside from Pokemon of course. It might also interest you that the only real difference between cartoons and anime is where they are originated.

Content-wise, that's a whole different ballpark altogether. Without going into much detail, Western cartoons are largely for a children's audience, {except for Archer, South Park and a few others} whereas anime is generally for an older audience, {such as Evangelion or Hellsing} with some exceptions.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

I watched Spongebob up until I was 16 or so; after that I stopped watching Nickelodeon entirely. Now I don't watch tv at all really, though I do like The Walking Dead. As for animated stuff that I still enjoy, it's pretty much all on Adult Swim.
